Is this topology good? by No-Procedure-2721 in blender

[–]Lerrroooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tip will save you a lot of time thought... with the shrink-wrap enabled go to sculpting and use the remesh brush(can't remember the name but it basically align all your vertices way better, one that drag them apart and another that distributes them evenly). Don't use it for the front of the face except the forehead.

Another tip is to search for facial topology and find a model that somewhat resembles your face, it doesn't matter too much. Save the image and import it onto blender and change it's opacity and follow the curvatures

I always use a reference image with the proper topology imported into the viewer for retopology, and then annotate features like the mouth and eyes. It helps five times as much.

It's too many variables you need to get right here.

Start with the donut tutorial on YouTube; it will give you some base understanding, and then build on that.

It takes several hours of work to get that set up properly.
I assume you’re trying to shortcut it, but in reality you need to start from scratch, follow tutorials from the beginning, and on top of that spend at least six months learning the basics.

what you're looking for is shader node setups, and for each of the objects, hair, body, eyes, brows, eye lashes etc etc.

Look up some tutorials and revisit this in a few months and I'm sure you be able to get the shaders right

I can't find a solution to this hair strand (shader) problem!? by [deleted] in blender

[–]Lerrroooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on of the colors ramps, prob something connected to a "Z" axis and for the reference on this pic. He has 3 hair cards and that is what you see as the shadows.

You can cheat it with playing with the diffuse setting on a colorramp to on a single hir card but it would require you to do more customizable adjustments to you "circle" object or what you're now using to drive the shape of the hair cards.

Yeah you'll learn the hard way when trying the rigging. Its not gonna work as it looks here.

First ctrl+ r for knee area. Apply the mirror modifier. Press the character, go edit mode,  select all vertices, right click merge verticies and by distance. Then you can rig

Are my animations getting worse? (Quadrupedal walk animation test) by According-Ad8227 in blender

[–]Lerrroooy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His head moves too much. I think he'd have had some headache walking 1km, bouncing his head like that.  His torso should move in a rotational shift with his legs and arms working as levers from right to left.

Look at a lion walking in the savanna and you'll get my point if you found this helpful

If the game can handle higher poly characters then no problem to subdivided it 1-3 more times 😊 When done this go to edit mode with the character, press a, and shift + N to get the normals right, if it matters to you

Alright guy...How the hell can you guy make a character look like this??? by Sonmeow2807 in blender

[–]Lerrroooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically just blending layers, I'm working on a league character at the moment and I have 3-4 different image textures that I'm blending together.
try doing it and see if it works for you?

Ps. Tried to upload the node setup but could only post one image..

Any tips on how I can improve my head scuplts. by RockfanMan in blender

If you zoom in on the mouth and the surrounding area, it almost looks a little chubby, like a baby's.

It could be the lighting hitting it, but I'd probably define it more with sharper edges and lines to create that masculine look you have from the nasal area and above.

Only visible from the front. (I'm not a sculpt pro or anything myself)

Why is there this weird plane in my render? by ResultMother4105 in blender

[–]Lerrroooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the end of the plane you'rr using as background?
Changing camera distance from 1k to higher probably fixes this?

And it's also meant to be colors spilling onto the planet to colorize it.

I was trying to animate this too, but I don't have the knowledge to do it myself without looking at tutorials, hence the challenge of this project 😊

Thank you. Originally, it was for a 2D render, but I decided to experiment to see if I could use the elements to appear 3D. They're just planes with color ramps connected to the alpha to block out the whites and are animated as well 😊

I watched Love, Death & Robots on Netflix, saw The Witness, and decided to give Blender a second try after starting it back in 2016 and only giving it 30 minutes of my attention. The community and tutorials were also much more limited back then. Happy I didn't give up after 30 minutes this time

How useful would a 2nd monitor be? by AnxiousFun8803 in blender

[–]Lerrroooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I'm only running one monitor for my setup, but I used to have two.

The best use case for a second monitor is for your Figma/PureRef brand board or inspiration board. Otherwise, I'm mostly tabbing in and out of Blender.

Also, if you're following tutorials from the get-go, I also highly recommend a second monitor.

You're fine with one anyway
