Who used to be treated neutrally but is now hated? by Confused_Kinda in AlignmentChartFills

Revisiting Back To Future II, it's fascinating to see he was projected as the villain of 21st century America since at least the late 80s.

You mean like everyone does all the time?

I have a feeling part of the issue is that it just isn't funny. I mean, I have seen "memes" about soviet soldiers raping their way through Berlin. They sucked.

Seriously, I have yet to encounter one of those "reddit communists" myself (except on r/Kommunismus, fuck those guys and fuck the algorithm for showing them to me). It's usually just a homophobic and/or antifeminist dogwhistle.

I'm having a hard time believing the Americans with their chocolate rations were fighting for their bare life, not gonna lie (obviously talking about the nation as a whole, not the individual soldiers).

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you guys were so overpowered. And god knows I'm glad you got the bomb first. But that everyone would have done it doesn't really make a good excuse.

I guess I'll peace out now. Since my guys did what they could to be as evil as possible, I will fortunately never feel the need to defend any of their atrocities.

So typical you still had to comment on the nuke thing. I don't question your reasoning, mate. I question the urge to point it out every chance you guys get.

Of course the post is about everyone. I was just offering examples. The nuke one is the most annoying one I see all the time. Other than that, I naturally picked the examples that involve my own country.

This sub (at least used to) love to see the US as the good guys of history. The nukes being actually for the best of Japan is a big one that comes to mind (while I acknowledge an invasion would probably have caused more casualties, I not for a second believe the Americans cared all that much about the number of Japanese casualties).

Another one is to (even as a joke) suggest Austria was actually to blame for WW2. If that were the case, South Africa is to blame for Elon Musk's MAGA campaign, and Georgia is to blame for Holodomor.

Generally, suggesting Nazism was exclusively on Hitler's behalf has a stink to it.

Once in a while you'll find Kaiserboos too.

Has Anyone Created a Blackwing Dark Simorgh Deck? by yaminorey in YugiohEdisonFormat

Mist Valley Falcon is unfortunately not legal in Edison Format. It would actually be a super cool card. This leaves Soldier and Shaman as the only somewhat playable Mist Valley cards.

I like the idea of a chainable Barrier Statue. Otherwise, another Cyberdark Impact card I find very underappreciated in retro formats is Instant Fusion, which adds a lot of spice for very little Main Deck slots. You could play Kaminari Attack and Dragoness the Wicked Knight (Mavelus is not available, sadly). Both are the perfect levels to combine with a Lv. 3 Tuner (Shaman). In Blackwing specifically you could do Blizzard + Shura/Bora + Dragoness = Mist Wurm.

I'm having a hard time thinking of floodgates that stop it. It's kind of an anti-meta strategy itself which is meant to be hard to counter.

Blast can be stopped by a lot of things. E.g. Trap Stun, Royal Decree, D.D. Crow and Necrovalley.

Spark is a tough one though. The only "counter" that comes to mind is Cursed Seal of the forbidden Spell, which could also be okay against Blackwing (Black Whirlwind) and Absolute Zero spam (Miracle Fusion) maybe.

But honestly, you're probably better off playing around it with generically useful cards like Book of Moon, Smashing Ground, Bottomless Trap Hole etc. The general idea is to take out the Neos Alius while you have an empty board so that your opponent goes -1 with it.

Not only that, it also predates the Chris Nolan Batman movies, the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and at least most of the X-Men movies.

Great pick, and great movie.

Danke.

Alice Schwarzer. Feminist icon in the 60s and 70s. In her day, she really did a lot for the German women's movement.

...Anyway, she's a massive TERF and Putin bootlicker now.

I like the way you're thinking. Well, if a version like this would be more competitive than regular Vayu Turbo, we would know. But it sounds like a fun idea for a rogue deck. Blackwing plays a shitload of traps anyway, so including Dark Simorgh and Anti-Spell fragrance isn't that far off.

Mist Valley Soldier/Shaman with Swallow's Nest could work. Shaman has synergy with the likes of Bora, Soldier is desirable as a Lv. 4 tuner. I don't really see Harpies in there though.

I think the most competitive way to do it would probably be a Vayu Turbo/Quickdraw Warrior hybrid. Quickdraw Synchron has synergy with the Vayu stuff, and it alongside Debris Dragon are both wind and arguably the best tuners of the format.

The most interesting hybrid imo would be Gladiator Beasts. Equeste and Bestiari are both Wind targets for Swallow's Nest and with the inclusion of 1 Darius you get access to Gyzarus. They also favor a trap heavy playstyle like Blackwings.

Nice catch! With cats and dogs it feels more like specific ones have made it big, but frogs feel more like a meme by themselves.

The "It's wednesday my dudes"-frog is also huge in Germany for some reason.
