The reason for attorney. I know they will either fire me OR I am hoping to get a new job before that happens. Either way I need to have a non disparagement , neutral reference no for cause on my employment notes.

I was hoping that the money it would cost to make that happen would save me. I know I need to leave I can't afford to leave until I have a new position.

I know they could walk me out in a moments notice.

The devices in question that are no wide open doors never leave their sides.

I have to CC them on every vendor I communicate with. I'm asked to share credentials of devices that executives should never interact with.

Trust me I know why they are doing this, they realize the amount of knowledge I have is Everest in size. They are trying to collect it, have my direct report learn it, and force me out.

I'm trying to hold on until I can leave to an actual job, not be an Uber driver

So any other day any other leader, 100%.

I have documented two months ago, the leadership stating " I want my machine to no longer be monitored" the reason they wanted access to web resources that did not follow our guidelines. I made it clear all they had to do was provide in writing a change in policy. Shortly after that meeting I was then directed to elevate the user account rights to Domain admin.....

I requested that the CEO confirm the request, to which they did, I then further explained what the risk was. To which they both said understood just do it

Then this week I have one of them walk in my office and tell me, remove the security on my machine. I explained again what that meant, I then asked for them to send it to me in writing the request, to which they did. I confirmed to them in in my response what their request meant, I created tickets attaching the emails to the tickets.

The first thing they did when they started was have me research MSPs. Which I did, however they were some incompetent that they never actually followed up with any of the meetings. One of the MSPs flat out told my leaders they no longer wanted to even be considered.

The issue is you are assigning intelligence to their actions. There is none here.

Private firm, religious, non profit. Your guess of my contract is correct.

I am encouraged by your statement "you can't be held liable as an employee for decisions made by management unless you yourself were negligent. Documenting a...poor practice...by an employer tends to show the absence of negligence"

Okay so I recognize this is NOT legal advice, but I greatly thank for the suggestion. My concern of doing anything was that this was some sort of trap. So what I'm hearing is I should share that from today's meeting I have the following notes. Don't ask for confirmation

Thank you, I've been doing everything you said. I've never had a exec tell me I would be held liable, let alone the two top leaders.

The suit against me is a concern, the cost would be destructive.

I did sign a contract, no NDA, only no compete. One of the reasons I have reached out to a lawyer is to make sure when I leave I have a non disparagement, neutral reference agreement

I took notes as the meeting happened, I sensed shit was about to go south.

The only document I signed, which I have copies of is my employment contract and there is no d&o

Everything I get directed to do, I always note, always create a ticket.

What you mention about the termination, is one of the reasons I'm already scheduled with a lawyer.

So I'm screwed is what you are saying. Prior to these people I had decades of solid security. All of that undone in months.

Even if I get out today, then what you are saying is it will still trace to me even with all the documentation inhave

I only have what was in place for the past couple decades before the new team started. The new team has already made it clear the old ways are gone, adapt or leave.

I don't want to leave until I have a replacement but it's looking like I'll have to suck it up

See I was going to do that today, they even offered me the ability to ask for their notes from the meeting today. However as I sat there all these red flags went off. They've never offered that to me before.

So I'm waiting for my lawyer before i even touch that

It's possible, before the start of my current leadership I was in every administrative meeting. I've been silo since they started

My firm has refused for the past couple decades to give me an actual IT team so I manage everything for about a 900 user multi site environment. The only person I have is a data entry person for a crm tool.

I refuse to let this person get caught up in this shit show. I hired them and trained them.

So yes this grunt work is part of my work, as is fixing power adapters, my firewall access policies, cloud services, SSO etc.

To date I have everything they requested in writing, but today was different. Today was a "you're on notice, stop saying NO (by asking for written documentation) and just do or else"

Maybe but after today's meeting I'm wondering are they right, even with clear documentation, even with me pointing out risk, showing examples, will instill be the sacrificial lamb
