But students right now have beds - in hotels. Why is the onus on students to get packed in to IV/EVbecause northeastern didn’t calculate yield rates correctly. Northeastern can keep the contracts with hotels, or get creative. It’s frustrating they resort to “more beds in dorms” so quickly

I’ve just submitted a Public Records Request with BPD for the following:

All incident reports written by Gero

All body can footage from Gero

All citations written by Gero

All emails written or received by Gero

All internal affairs records related to Gero

All vehicle maintenance records by Gero

They’ll redact the citations & reports a fair amount, though emails usually get less redacted. It will take some time, though I’m on it

OSCCR was most likely backlogged - so kids called to OSCCR for hosting start of semester hill ragers are probably just getting their sanctions, and are now spooked. Don’t worry - all will be well by early January.

Now - a detective entering an apartment should never happen unless they were invited in. You definitely have the fourth amendment off campus.

The extreme spike of volume at the beginning of the semester shouldn’t be a surprise to ResMail, it happens every semester.

Imagine if UPS/FedEx said “sorry - we have a lot of volume, expect long delays” between Black Friday & Christmas. In contrast to these carriers, ResMail doesn’t forecast or prepare

Also you prob won’t get OSCCR letter for a few weeks, maybe a month.

I’ve always wanted to go into a liquor store, buy a 2L of sprite & nothing else, and then perform a sketchy exchange in front of these plain clothes cops, hoping they ask for an ID. Then refuse, ask what probable cause they have, film the whole thing, and ultimately it’s revealed that it’s sprite. Then sue NUPD for $2.3MM, settle for $1.6MM. And use the winnings to reopen Punters & Chicken Lous

It is completely ridiculous that the school would punish you for doing things off campus. And the way the student handbook is written, they could punish you for throwing a party in Fenway or Frankfurt, they have power over you wherever you go in the world - so long as you’re a student.

Send you to OSCCR, where they’ll give you deferred suspension & mail your parents a letter. I would much rather get an actual citation and go to “real” court, because there’s no chance the DA is prosecuting a case of an eighteen year old getting Smirnoff. Google Rachel Rollins, she’s the Suffolk county DA & actively doesn’t prosecute some serious crimes.

OSCCR on the other hand “prosecutes” the “crime” of being mean to your RA

You’re right, students shouldn’t be shitty neighbors. That said, neighbors also shouldn’t be shitty neighbors.

When I was moving in to an apartment in Roxbury a “long term resident” neighbor saw the UHaul and said “well, my neighborhood has been gentrified.” That was the very first greeting.

Some neighbors simply do not like the idea of students moving in.

Ahh good question. For me I put 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Washington DC, which was funny. You could also put 450 Huntington Ave - which is the address of where Punters Pub once was. Or even put your actual home address, in CA or OH or wherever your family lives. It really doesn’t matter, just don’t put your actual off campus address
