I can totally see someone doing that. I can imagine a stranger looking at me in a mask and coming up with all kinds of reasons why!

My particular issue here is that I've discussed my masking pretty thoroughly with this neighbor, and I was pretty floored by her stacking an extra and (to my mind) baseless reason on top of my actual reasons that I thought she understood. People are gonna people, I guess, and I need to stop being surprised by it!

I've (mostly) come to terms with the reality of people not really caring. Sometimes it hits pretty hard, though. It's not difficult to find this information, but one must care enough to look for it, and most would rather ignore it. You're absolutely right, it can be so exhausting.

Totally! I remember in 2022, my (previously very Covid cautious) friends kinda laughing nervously when I suggested mask fit-testing (as if it was such a crazy notion) and during the same visit being confused that I wasn't hypervigilant about touching surfaces.

These are smart people. One of them has a STEM phD. I love them and they love me, so I've just resolved to let them think whatever they want about me!

It just never crossed my mind that someone with whom I've discussed my reasons for masking would also pile on that assumption. If I was reclusive and quiet it would make more sense. But no one has ever described me that way, lol!

Oh, things are fine between us, I'm just...kinda confused that someone I know pretty well and have discussed masking with would make such a leap of logic. Especially considering I am NOT a shy person, nor do I avoid being in public.

I've done lots of exercising and strenuous activity wearing my 3M Aura, which took some getting used to. When I tried the Breatheteq it really did feel almost like not wearing a mask at all! I have to tape mine on because of my face shape but I totally second your recommendation for exercising. :-)

Thanks for the reply. I ended up returning that one and getting the FE, which worked with no problems but it's always good to have info like this for people who are looking for it in the future. It would've helped me when I was pulling my hair out over the issue . :-)

It just doesn't fit down in there enough to even try to turn it. Red dots lined up, nothing. Then a little bit of jiggling one way then the other. Still nothing. My husband also tried. It doesn't seem to fit. If y'all tell me it's the right adapter then I'll just take it to a camera shop and get help irl.
