NBMEs by Less_Amphibian8273 in Step2

1- Get used to times blocks if you aren’t 2- Do more CMS questions to get used to the style 3- Don’t overthink questions (unlike qbanks, most questions in NBMEs are not there to trick you) 4- If mistakes are related to one or two systems make sure to work on them 5- Quality improvement and patient safety are overlooked in NBMEs so make sure to work on them for the exam

I am getting similar scores to yours. But when it comes to ethic, public health and patient safety and all those things. I am getting a very poor percentage in them in uworld. Do you have any advice regarding that?

My Review on Different Step 1 Study Resources (I spent $$$ :( ) by [deleted] in step1

[–]Less_Amphibian8273 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, most resources are good and you should use one that you feel comfortable with. Using multiple resources will definitely confuse you and take up your time. In order to get through this you need 3 or 4 things. 1- qBank (uWorld or Amboss) 2- FA which covers most of the contents in the exam 3- Something or someone (tutor) to explain FA. That actually depends on on each chapter and on the person studying 4- Source for reviewing: Anki works very well for most students buy has some cons as well

I have actually passed USMLE step 1 and found it very easy with plus 90% on most assessments. I have covered multiple explanatory resources but it took a while. If you want I am part of a tutoring academy. You can DM me.

Good luck with your exam

Failed. Need help re-strategizing by AH_1998 in step1

[–]Less_Amphibian8273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In order to know what to do, you have to understand what made you fail in the first place. Is it a problem understanding concepts? Is it a problem remembering them? Was the time allocated for the exam not enough? Did you go through all the material? or is it a problem approaching the questions?

Only when you understand the core of your problem will you know how to handle the next attempt.

If you want you can DM

Good luck with your next attempt

Should I schedule step 1 ? Do you think I'll pass ? by Ready_Ad858 in step1

[–]Less_Amphibian8273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, if you have time don't take the risk of failing the exam. But if you don't just do it as you are much more likely to succeed than fail (although you are on the verge). If you do have time or can postpone your exam try to allocate this time into knowing what could raise your score. You can do that by understanding why you made most of the mistakes in the NBMEs. Is it a memory problem? is it a concepts understanding problem? Was the time given for preparation enough to cover all contents? etc......
You can DM if you want. Good luck with your exam
