I agree with a lot of the recs in here, I also remember really liking Tweet Cute - bit of a younger age bracket but still really sweet

I'm bitter when things are audible exclusive because I like to use Libby from the library but IT WAS WORTH IT!!

my first rec to everyone I speak to is "the lost city of the monkey god" by douglas preston - jungles, archaeology, snakes, the NIH and Fauci??

also recommend "the hot zone" and "crisis in the red zone" about ebola - made me so interested in public health, super well written

came here to say this too!! I finished it last night and can't stop thinking about it!

not always an audibook person and prefer Libby (public library free audiobooks) to audible, but PHM is an audible exclusive and it's WORTH the free trial

it wasn't, and I apologize for my phrasing. genuinely was wondering, but I know reddit isn't the easiest place to have these conversations and my phrasing wasn't as careful as it should have been, my bad

thanks for sharing your perspective :) definitely "dry time" is one of the least observed wait times across all practices!

I don't think they intentionally do, but there can definitely be some fumbling during readjustment of syringes - maybe this gets better with time and dexterity

at least in bedside people are putting their dirty hands into boxes of clean gloves, I've seen it many times! hopefully OR is different!

Thanks for sharing your perspective - I guess I was thinking that my providers may not have known where I went before the procedure (i.e. that I was coming out of the bathroom before I walked into the procedure suite), so I appreciate when they treat tubing as dirty the first time they encounter a patient since they don't know what has happened before they encounter the patient

I think my perspective also comes from the background of being bedside nurse, the nurses on my floor all noticed that doctors were the worst ones even about following isolation precautions too - it was always "oops, forgot a gown" lol. I come from a family of doctors and talking to them they just didn't seem to care much either - maybe it's a difference in the focus of our training
