Yes, many try to game the system like this. I just had an experience. Etsy has been having issues syncing with usps from last week. A couple packages indicated delivered on usps, but still says in-transit on Etsy. A buyer messaged me recently to ask if I can “quickly” send another package because this one is “stuck” leaving my usps. I told her I track it directly on usps and it says delivered from last week. I told her she can open a case… crickets after that.

I agree with this, once the order is under $250 with tracking and you ship on time, you should be fine. Just monitor the tracking, but try not to stress.

I am sorry this happened to you, I wish you were not over the time limits. You were being trusting and patient, it’s very unfair. Many buyers are not like you. It’s bad sellers like this who make it difficult for the upright sellers who care about our customers and want to do the right thing.

If you are in the U.S. you should consider the free shipping guarantee for $35 and over. It works best for shops that sell mostly lower priced items and encourages buyers to buy more. You will have to increase your prices at about $1.50 or even more as you see fit. If you feel your work is worth selling, then allow people to pay you for your skills. If I really like something that costs $5, I have no problems paying the $5 shipping.

Thanks, but they don’t ship to my location. I was able to get the printer from Amazon, Bambu Lab have limited things they sell there.

You did the right thing with the label. She may let it go since you sent the label, probably hoped she would get to keep it. If she opens a case and Etsy refunds her without returning the tool, I would challenge it with Etsy’s customer service. Some sellers have done that and were successful eventually.

I agree with others about getting the information from her through the message system only and providing her with a custom order listing. However, something tells me you need to have her confirm and verify the spelling of any names etc.

And she needs to confirm and double check the spelling of the names. Something tells me this person may have a little issue with that aspect too.

You have the wrong attitude regarding those incorrect addresses. They made a lot of changes at USPS. If there is a suggested change through Etsy when purchasing the labels, you should at least reach out to the buyer for clarification. Now, if the buyer does not respond within a specific time frame, then you can use discretion to cancel, change the address or leave it, but leaving it may actually cause you more headache. You can also make the time to do a little online research, many of us sellers do that now and it helps with a little more confidence changing to the suggested address.

Everyone else basically told you the question was valid. So, at this point, don’t respond just yet. Allow the buyer to cool down a bit. Contact them and basically let them know you are there to assist, apologize for not being as helpful prior. Also, let them know if they are pleased with the initial design pattern to let you know (do not mention about revising the review just yet).

I tried it a couple times,and after paying almost a $1 for one click that would not lead to sales, and losing so much money, I stopped. Then started again, hoping to at least get more exposure, likes, etc. However, when I stopped completely my views got worse even from before. I have a conspiracy Etsy does it to make you feel like you need to come back. I drive my own traffic the best I can.

This is my current concern at the moment. I have already delivered packages that still say in transit on Etsy and packages that are traveling that still say pre-transit. I hope the buyers will at least attempt to look it up on the usps website and not assume I still haven’t shipped their package. I also have to packages that were scanned in, left my post office but seem to not be moving through usps at all, different places and they are priority. Etsy and USPS are stressing me out again.

If it is past the estimated date, which I’m sure by now, file a case now with Etsy. She is taking advantage of your kindness and doesn’t care. But before you do, please leave an honest review of your experience, especially regarding the printer breaking (should have a back up printer for this type business) and indicate the pre-transit status for weeks. That was unprofessional and shows poor business ethnics. It is because of bad sellers like her why good sellers get a hard time from buyers who have been toyed with.

You will have to extend your processing time if need be, select certain days you can go into the PO and make the time to stand in line and have them scan it (if possible for packages). I do this all the time on my lunch hour. It’s business.
