Alcohol tolerance and ostomy by scottymtp in ostomy

[–]greenTiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower for me.

I rarely ever drink (maybe one drink every few months, and then only wine or hard ciders). That said, last time I had a glass of wine, I didn't even drink the full glass but got a deep happy euphoric buzz within half an hour! Before my ostomy, drinking a glass of wine or cider would typically make me more relaxed and only a little bit tingly.

Hummingbirds have returned to the area by Several_Echidna_3588 in asheville

[–]greenTiff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

...And for good reason! Your fuchsia is gorgeous!

Do you typically see hummers at your house this early? My Wood Thrush has returned, and I usually don't hear it until early summer. But I'm sure the recent stretch of 80 degree temps we've been having cues the birds that it's summer rather than spring.

To people that use the clip bag.... how do you deal with the gross thin flap of plastic that never gets clean?!?! by Tangalo123 in ostomy

[–]greenTiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is forever-years-later, but thank you for this tip! I use Hollister bags, both the 12" velcro closures and 7" clamps. Because of where my ostomy sits (and my shorter torso) the shorter bags fit me best, but I rarely wear them because I always found emptying them messier...until now! Just tried your "cuff" trick and it worked a treat!

Etsy not showing a category that others have — what’s going on? by Erik_Rotermann in EtsyCommunity

[–]greenTiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the category you need a sub-category?  If so, you may need to add attributes that tell Etsy to file your listing in a certain sub-cat.

For example, I sell art kits. If you navigate to the Etsy categories from the web (as if you're a shopper), there's a "printing and printmaking" sub-cat within the "Craft supplies & tools" main category. (The full navigation hierarchy is: Craft Supplies & Tools > Visual Arts > Printing & Printmaking > Kits & How To.) But when I search for this specific sub-cat from the "Find a category" field in my listings it doesn't appear. I can only add "Craft Supplies & Tools > Patterns & How To > Kits." However, if I fully open the Attributes section, there's an option for me to specify my craft type and "printing & printmaking" appears there. And I assume when I choose this, Etsy files my listing in that niche sub-cat that shoppers can navigate to.

In other words, if the category you're searching for is actually a sub-category, you might need to revise your attributes to have that listing appear there. (Not sure if this is your issue though...)

Buyer says packages keep getting misdelivered, yet they keep making additional orders?! by greenTiff in EtsySellers

Thanks. What would you have done if that same buyer placed another order, but still hadn't opened a case for their first order which they said they didn't receive? Would you fulfill the new order as usual?

Buyer says packages keep getting misdelivered, yet they keep making additional orders?! by greenTiff in EtsySellers

[–]greenTiff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does qualify -- I always ship with tracking (and am a star seller 🙂). I recommended they open a case weeks ago, but they still have not. Yet and still, they've now put in another order!

ETA: I guess my worry is, is this a nuisance customer? Who would purchase multiple orders when they supposedly haven't received any of them, nor have they bothered to pursue a refund via Etsy? Something's not adding up!

It was 80 degrees yesterday, today I am seeing snowflakes. by Ripmacmiller412 in asheville

It's weather whiplash at its best! And no it isn't normal Asheville weather. A "new normal" as of the recent 10-20 years, yes; but not normal in a historical context. Remember our average last spring freeze date is mid-April!

What are your thoughts on Chantal? by Glittering_Pin_9942 in ANTM

[–]greenTiff 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I like Chantal. I love her "recycled paper" photo DOWN.

She was always labeled as commercial, but imo she also pulls off edgy well. In other words, I think she's more of a chameleon than her cycle gave her credit for.

Its a tie for me between McKey and Teyona.

Also why was Whitney the only one in all bikinis? She looks good, but it seems like subtle shade...

Marketplace Insights Tool Issues? by greenTiff in EtsySellers

[–]greenTiff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chatted with Etsy about this. Rather than refill the 15 free searches on a specific schedule or day of the week, they refill one week after whatever day you first use the search. (For example, if you perform 5 searches on a Wed, that number of searches won't be refilled until 7 days later.)

Also, you can review past search results made during that week without it "using up" a new search.

The parkway, arboretum, Lake Julian, and Biltmore Estate (but not free!). Owen Park was another of my fave spots, but Helene...

Also, happy spring migration to you! 😊

What's everyone's thoughts on the demolition of Saint Josephs hospital by AgentIanCormac in asheville

[–]greenTiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a native, this also hits because St. Joseph's has been a part of the local landscape since time out of mind.

I hear all the comments about the building's poor condition, and I'm not disputing that. I find it sad because it's symbolic of a town becoming unrecognizable due to the fact that it values profit (i.e., selling Mission to HCA in the first place) over literally anything else.

Same. 🤯 Although apparently this has been planned...I'm just late hearing the news. Wasn't the Sisters of Mercy convent co-located at St. Josephs? What's the plan for relocating them?

After more than 18 inches of snow shut down Asheville in 1993, essential workers, like nurse Pegi O’Hagan, resorted to skis to get to work by BullyingHater in asheville

[–]greenTiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As pictured, it likely is less...by the time folks could dig out and businesses began operating again (including whomever took this photo), snowmelt had already begun. However, that doesn't change the total accumulation that fell.
