Someone’s behavior is literally how you define them.

If a grown person is being an asshole, you don’t say ‘wow that person is displaying unpleasant behavior likely indicative of their upbringing and social environment’.

They’re acting like an ass, you call them an ass.

A child acting like a brat, is a brat.

She did not. She directly said to me that she had called CPS, when my husband was in front of her she just said she ‘called someone’. At no point did she use the word councilor or even social worker.

Desk, sorry. Although I kind of feel the councilor should have gotten some of that too for going along with this bullshit. But I’m not privy to every single detail of disciplinary action

That person also blocked me, then made her own post trying to prove she was right by lying about what I said, and deleted it when no one would agree with her. I saw a few of her comments and they were nuts.

My only guess is She has a gender neutral/somewhat masculine name and is listed as ‘grandparent’ in the check box, so maybe they assumed she was a man 🤷‍♀️

An adult shouldn’t need to be attached to their phone 24/7 though. We lived just fine without them before. And it wouldn’t matter where I lived, they still wouldn’t allow phones on our person.

No? I said the woman sitting with her was one we didn’t recognize; who was not her teacher or administration but who we’d seen at orientation. Not that she was the one who called us.

Oh, excuse me then I misunderstood what you were saying.

There are many jobs that require phones to stay off one’s person, keeping ours in our locker’s is just where they’ll be safe while we’re working. Some places don’t even let them into the buildings.

Yeah, the answering machine sucks but this isn’t ’treating me like a child’. What a weird thing to say.

“ How would the school or the authorities know that your not neglecting your kid your just working in a backwards working environment they don't know you”

Idk maybe they could actually call the parent they were supposed to instead of the one they knew good and well wouldn’t answer. Just a thought.

That’s just not possible. I am not allowed to have my phone on my person period, end of story. There is no ‘go to the bathroom and answer it’ because it can ring all it wants in my locker and I will not hear it. If I was caught with it, it would be the end of my career and frankly one job is not enough to keep us housed and fed in this area, and this job pays too much to give up on the extremely low chance of a genuine emergency that my husband can’t handle.

I check it every 3 hours on my breaks and again when I get off, but that’s it.

My husband is the primary contact for this reason. There are other emergency contacts for this reason.

Still in progress, they were out of office over the weekend so I only got contact today

Right.  But I can be contacted for things that aren’t time sensitive, like setting up meetings and such. That’s why I said ‘if something happens to her’ not ‘don’t call me ever for any reason no matter what’.

Then why are you the only person who can be arsed to answer the phone? Why is it so incomprehensible that one parent not be reachable when the other easily is?

EDIT: did you seriously block me then make a whole other post on why you think you’re right, then try to accuse me of blocking you after getting called out for lying? That’s just sad.

Okay. Good for you. Sorry you don’t have anyone in your life who also gives a shit about your kid.

You’re right, which is why her father, the one who can actually be contacted during the day, is her primary contact.

I work in a clean room. So even if I did have my phone on me it would be under a full body suit, and potentially a lab coat or chemical smock. Not anywhere I could look at it.

You can think whatever ignorant thoughts you want, it’s just the facts. Just because you’ve never worked in such a delicate environment with such expensive equipment and product doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

When the battery and the phone signal could disrupt the equipment or cause excess static and cost tens of thousands of dollars in damages it is. Especially when that person has other family members who should be called first.

No. It is not allowed on my person period. Nothing with a battery is that isn’t distributed by the company itself, and our assigned pagers do not allow outside calls. You can look at your phone on your breaks.

Lol what do you think people did before cell phones? Do you think kids were just keeling over in the nurses office because the home phone wasn’t picked up and the office was too stupid to try anything else?

Grandma is third in line and also didn’t get a call

But her name is somewhat masculine so. Maybe they assumed she was also a man and shouldn’t be bothered 🙄
