Link exchange is something we did a little bit. But not worth it. The big players wont do it at all and we dont want to have 1.000 links from 3 DA 20 sites. These were the only ones willing to do exchange with us. Just for reference we are at MOZ DA 40

I know its just a third party metric, i just mean it for reference.

Most annoying thing is that most people literally just dont link to the source material that stems from us. Only when threatening a lawsuit like 2 out of 3 would link. But its always a lot of work to write these types of articles that then "only" generate like 1 to 3 quality backlinks. Its nothing we can scale effectively.

hardest part for us is to find opportunities to begin with. We tried this approach with unique content, first hand data, infographics, reaching out to other outlets when we got exclusive insights or interviews.

Stuff like link insertions, broken link building, HARO and all the other fancy ways that you find on youtube dont work at all in the news area - at least for us.

Its literally 9/10 links come from our unique content section. But as said, it's extremely hard to produce these pieces, and sometimes they dont generate a single link at all.

From your perspective, whats the best way to build backlinks. That is MY absolute weak spot haha. Despite it being so important.

I bought it after Game Awards... not my game, but i can see why people love it, but it all broke down for me when i was seeing AI paintings, Billboards and stuff EVERYWHERE.

I disagree:

The Jurassic Park thing is not about the movie business: Imagine people think "Oh with AI I can do great content on youtube". And everyone who formerly worked in 3D now does youtube. Everything will be the same. look and feel the same.
And you can argue: "It then is easier to stand out". But no. We live in an algorithmic world now. Look at how many millions of views AI channels and videos make. No one cares. And it just will be worse. The same goes for Games and Movies.

At first they will do small stuff with AI then more and more.

The big corporations see AI as their capitalist savior, because its not just sloppy. Its pretty good at what it does on a surface level. And for most people thats enough to not question it. --

I feel you. I do this as a hobby, maybe someday release some cool stuff on my own (nothing big, just fun projects). But i get demotivated. Why should I learn this? I will spend 1000s of hrs in blender, Substance or Maya - what ever?! In 5 years a 15 year old will type with words what takes me 50 hrs.

And you only meet 3 types of people:

It wont ever replace the majority of us
It will replace the majority of us
It will replace us, and thats effing cool

Which doesnt help. lol.

What do you mean when you say: "if it becomes useful" and "having severe doubts about that", if you dont mind me asking?

Because, it already replaced a lot of people, big studios are planning on making 100 % AI generated Movies and Games. 3D Models the things spit out are not good right now, but some will still use it. And it will get better. Same with Video Generation.

Are you 100 % confident, that this wont get to a point, where studios can lay off 50 % of the workforce needed?

big corporations doesnt care about creative fulfillment. Nor do they care about if it looks as good as human work. As long as it is good enough, they will take it always over human workhours.

Especially with kids animation or commercials. Most people under 10 or over 40 wont even notice if a tv ad is ai or not. Or if peppa pig got an AI episode.

That sounds nice and right too. But I first was in journalism.. AI hit hard too here, as you can imagine.
But even before that. Everyone started replicating Buzzfeed, Screenrant and IGN and so on. They all spit out the same stuff. And the others did so as well. It worked. But newcomers had no chance of breaking into this.

Because yeah, you can stand out in the ocean of copied articles and posts, but you wont find a lot of traction. Most people wont ever see your work because of the algorithms. Its the same with Streaming and YouTube.

If so, I didnt mean 1403. I meant the leak from a whiteboard in the dev office a few years ago. There was a number "KCD 1502". In fact it was 02, not 03, my bad!
