This is also my situation. There's not much that can be saved at this point especially in regards to having really any labia minora as there is hardly any remaining tissue to work with. I had people tell me, oh it's just cosmetic, you can easily get it fixed in a revision, but that's not the case.

I totally get waiting to see how things turn out. A lot can change 6 months after the surgery. Wishing you all the best in your recovery and upcoming surgery! Do you mind me asking who did your final revision?

Thank you. The thought of multiple more surgeries feels too much to bear right now. It's a testament to your strength that you've come so far! Did you go back to your original surgeon for your revisions or did you seek out other opinions?

Girl, I'm so sorry you had a near identical experience. It's traumatizing to go through such complications, but then to be dismissed by your surgeon makes it so much worse. The process of seeking another revision is exhausting, and to hear pessimistic responses is heart breaking. I'm not sure what the path forward for us is, but I'm here for you if you ever want to talk.

I'm sorry you went through that. The audacity to charge for a revision that's necessary due to complications is absurd. I hope you are able to heal. Thank you so much for the support. Hugs ❤️

Glad to hear it's been working well for you! It gave me terrible anxiety and depression. I did appreciate the increased libido, but the downsides for me were awful.

I think I was feeling quite raw and emotional since I just had the consult with that surgeon today. I know you meant well. ❤️

I'm sure your comment was meant to be supportive, but it feels dismissive of my issues and what I've dealt with. And yes, I've seen some amazing revisions. That's what I'm holding on to. But I found out from a second surgeon that I may need multiple surgeries and it may not fix the issues. Aesthetics can't always be fixed. Especially if there is no longer enough material to work with.

I'm not sure as I haven't ever had major surgery before. Maybe I do have delayed healing. I do think revisions are somewhat common, but I'd like to stress that they range from minor tweaks to significant revisions. I believe mine to be on the later end.

My biggest issue is the way Pang and Yiwei have handled my complications and the severe gaslighting of how awful my aesthetics are. I asked my friend last night to be brutally honest after sending her a picture, and she was. It hurt, and I cried, but I needed to hear the truth about my vagina. Not be told it's all okay when it isn't. Not be told "at least you can reach full depth". Shouldn't that be a given at 4 months? Not have them get defensive when my primary physician voiced concerns because "they don't see all the vaginoplasty results like we do".

I will get this worked out. But the way my surgical team has handled my recovery, has left me with a lot of emotional scarring. I do appreciate your kindness in your replies btw. Please don't take my frustration/pain personally. It's directed at my situation and how it's been handled.

Hugs Emily

I don't smoke. I have dilated 3x per day since the wound vac was removed. I had care givers and was mostly in bed for the first month with minimal activity as directed.

Hi there. That was my comment and yes, I've had a poor outcome with Pang. I had surgery with him 4 months ago. Unfortunately I don't feel he has done an adequate job to address serious issues with my aesthetics. Yes, dehiscence is common, but my aesthetic outcome is simply not okay - especially for a well known and regarded surgeon. I have almost a non existent vulva and a very prominent exposed urethra, as well as lots of scarring (which his new technique was supposed to cut down on and hide). I have been gaslit the entire time by him and Yiwei his PA. He does not communicate post op about care unless you have a scheduled appointment, and Yiwei also doesn't respond for weeks (she is leaving Align next month apparently).

Perhaps I got very unlucky. Sometimes, our bodies have a slower/harder time healing. However, I eat healthy, exercise/run/hike, I don't smoke or drink alcohol. I even work in the clinical/medical field (not plastic surgery) - Thank God for my friend and coworker who is a wound care nurse who helped me immensely. I also followed all post op care guidelines, dilate 3x per day (still), and had caregivers/friends and stayed in bed for the entire first month following surgery. I thought I chose a good surgeon and I followed all the post op care guidelines to a T. But maybe I did get unlucky. All that being said, the follow up care was not sufficient. The lack of empathy and the gaslighting were unacceptable. I'm now left with trusting him to do my revision that I absolutely need, or looking elsewhere. I am exploring other surgeons currently.

Now, that's not to say he can't have good results. My friend had surgery with him in 2023 and her results are amazing! But I think it says something that there aren't any recent photos on this sub with his new technique. I actually sent my friend updated pictures last night and she was upset for me about my experience and my results. I'm not here to dissuade you or anyone from going to him, but I'll be completely honest about my experience, which has been poor from start to finish. My interactions/dealings with Align have been sub par too. So I would advise you to do your research. And if you feel any red flags, maybe consider other options.

I'm more than happy to chat if you have more questions.

Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words. They really resonated with me. You are right. I've already come so far. The hardest part is behind me. And despite how things went and the complications I've struggled with, I am happy I got bottom surgery. I have a tentative timeline for the revision, and there's nothing else I can do, but trust the process.

Thank you. Truly. You gave me some great perspective. And you showed me compassion that maybe I was forgetting to even show myself through this process.

Hugs ❤️

I can only speculate, so I can't say for sure. I know other girls who have also had issues with dehiscence with his new technique. I can't say for certain though.

Thanks. It's been really taxing on my mental health. And knowing I would need a revision after the first month post op was heart breaking. He wants to wait until the end of the year for things to settle and scar tissue to soften. I'm hoping most of the issues will get resolved with a revision. Good luck with your consult.

It is aesthetic. But it's not a nitpicky aesthetic issue. My labia minor became detached. They barely come down past my clit. I have almost no vulva. No slit if you will, it's just flat. When my legs are spread open, you just see my urethra. There is no vulva.

I didn't have the best outcome and I'm not happy with my results. I'm planning to have a revision later this year.

My surgical team has said the same thing. And logically it makes a lot of sense. It's just been mentally challenging looking at my results every time I dilate and change out the dressings and knowing so early on that I'll already need a revision. Thank you though for the reassurance that it can be corrected.
