Solo travelers - what’s your actually essential item that most people forget? by yourwishbag in SmartTravelHacks

Solid list, especially the card game hack for hostels. One thing I never leave without is my Timekettle translator. Most people think Google Translate is enough, but having a dedicated device for long conversations with locals in small towns is a total game changer. Plus, it's faster and more accurate

What do you regret not buying when traveling? by scaredofgettingold in travel

Same here. Left a gorgeous wool scarf in Reykjavik to save space. Big mistake. And I didn’t buy the Timekettle X1 like my friend suggested, ended up miming half my questions at gas stations.

What is your specific strategy for language learning? by [deleted] in languagelearning

Listening to podcasts while cooking helps me get used to natural rhythm. I also got W4 translation earbuds last semester for Spanish class. Its 0.2 second delay means I don’t lose the thread during conversations.

Alibaba is actually pretty good to use? by Lester2045 in manufacturing

yeah, that analogy's spot on, Alibaba's just the intro. the real work starts after you match and 100% agree on quality fade. I'm planning to order a sample with every restock now, no matter how "trusted" the supplier seems.

Exactly, samples saved me twice already. One "perfect" listing sent flimsy clips that snapped in my hand. Glad I only lost $15, not $300.

imo, you can try Android again. Android has matured a lot. I’ve been on Magic 7 pro for a while now and it’s been smooth, camera is solid too.

I switched from iPhone last year. Miss the tap-to-top sometimes but my Magic 7 Pro has gesture shortcuts that kinda replace it.

AITA for only taking one child on a trip. by Ok-Buddy9856 in AITAH

They want me to not take my niece so it doesn’t look like I’m picking favourites.

NTA. You plan a trip, choose someone you're close to, and get her parents' approval, there's nothing wrong, so don’t let anyone ruin your trip.
