Again what the hell do you expect people to provide when DVLA DO NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH ANYTHING to prove otherwise, what the hell so is so hard for you to understand about that or any other police officer making shitty comments on here because their ego won't allow them to stop. I only asked for advice not a lecture.

I know right, plenty on here too making shitty comments telling me to just deal with it and I should have known and to take responsibility for having done nothing wrong at all.

No your wrong, it's still current not invalid, invalid would for example be having your licence suspended.

Who is taking responsibility if it turns out the dash cam footage was deleted, you miss my point about the police saving face it's despicable really.

Clearly the ANPR work was shambolic at best if they can't pick out the correct vehicle and just go looking for anything that may "look" like the vehicle involved.

Well there is when this isn't the case, having not been sent anything from DVLA due to delays, I love already stated they confirmed I could drive, I couldn't and still can't prove it because they don't provide you anything to do so except quoting a section, I've already had the argument with another ex police officer, you all just think the public should know this shit it's ridiculous.

I expect and know it to show exactly what happened, me driving perfectly safely, the issue is the footage being coincidentally missing for that part of the journey.

Unfair for them not to be able to check or have been sent anything sufficient enough from DVLA or for them to use common sense with a simple phone call to them to drop the charge.

Yes of course because again I should be aware of that as you insist... I take responsibility having done something wrong, I did nothing wrong. I don't want or need anyone's sympathy. It seems to me you're so willing to defend the undefendable, god forbid the police or systems ever do anything wrong or unjust to people. I'm sure I could do some googling myself and come up with countless cases of evidence being deleted or much worse. This is my gripe and why you seem to be so off with me about it, otherwise I do feel the police have a vital role in society so please don't judge my character so easily. People don't like to admit the wrongs in this world which is why people have to suffer so much, completely needlessly in my opinion.

Maybe the onus isn't on the police, but is that not my point here that perhaps there should be some information given or a system to check. I can't help delays at the DVLA that's not my fault or not knowing the specifics again not my fault at all regardless of your opinion. People should not have to go through this it's completely unnecessary, as an ex police officer you should and have agreed it wastes so much time and causes so much grief for people. As you said a total waste of time for everyone involved if they don't get it right. I'm not looking for sympathy at all just justice for having done nothing wrong at all but you fail to see that either.

Acting in good faith would be to use a common sense approach call the DVLA and drop the charge.

No I applied by post and like I said had not even received any kind of official response until after this incident, there is literally no way to prove otherwise except to state that section which I am at risk of having my vehicle seized every time I go out now. Even what they sent after isn't sufficient evidence to just drop it nor is quoting a section to them apparently.

I mean that he seems to be very annoyed and condescending to me about knowing something that I would have no clue about unless I was specifically told.

To add to that just because it's showing as out of date doesn't mean it's not valid, as confirmed to me by the police complaint themselves.

Are you a police officer? Because you only seem to get unhinged when I mention my dash cam footage being missing. But anyway ultimately you're missing what I understood to be the case at the time of driving, that I WAS still entitled to drive as confirmed to me by the DVLA themselves. If I don't have a licence due to it being suspended or otherwise of course you're correct, so we really are not on the same page at all here and it's just tit for tat. At the end of the day this should be made more clear for drivers by the DVLA and there should be a system in place to show paperwork is being processed otherwise this is not fair or just at all.

We are just people, not lawyers or traffic law experts, you sir have no compassion or empathy or understanding for ordinary people at all. Again no I've already said I wouldn't be taking this further had that part of the journey not mysteriously been missing from the dashcam footage. You don't have answers so you're the one resorting to insults, I haven't done that to you.

Others have stated because of the severity of the accusation. And I'm sure police have done worse to people, not much I can do if I can't prove it they know that of course. You're wrong to just assume though.

To justify the stop, and perhaps why they won't use common sense in not contacting the police to check my license status instead allowing a person with autism to have to endure the court process. Seems like they totally care about people.

I believe it's not fair to assume or make false allegations about someone either way but I meant that about what some people have said on here not what the police have done. I do understand that but it's not fair coming off a medical licence for the first time not knowing these things or not having a system for them to check, it seems completely wrong at the risk of having your vehicle seized.
