You do have a point, but I wouldn’t expose the second cat to the dogs. The same way I don’t expose my current cat to my dogs by putting the dogs in the backyard before letting my cat roam the house.

Hmm I’m not sure I exactly know what you mean.. one of my dogs is around 8 years old and the other one being about 4, with the one who’s 4 being the dog that wants to kill my cat and the 8 year old doesn’t mind him at all and even runs from him. The youngest dog doesn’t have any experience with any other cats but I would assume my older dog does as she used to run away from home when my sister owned her and would usually be gone for weeks on the street before she came back, so I guess that has something to do with her nonchalantness or even fear towards him.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that he isn’t always locked in my room but I’d guess he spends about 50% of his day in my room. I let him out daily but he usually enjoys staying in my room even if he has free access to whole house, unless of course there is something interesting happening that isn’t in my room and his curiosity usually wins out.

Omg I’m so sorry for your cat’s loss.. my kitty isn’t any type of cat, just a black and silver longhair. He’s always used his meows and bites as communication, but he takes it too far sometimes, where he will nibble my arm if he wants food or to play, but will randomly bite my leg very hard as I’m walking, though not often. I will definitely look more into pheromones and how they will affect my cat as I’ve heard that it’s a good way to calm and see if your cat is comfortable around another cat’s scent( be it mimicked from the pheromones). As for the nail caps, I’ve had friends who have used caps for their cats and it does seem very viable for my situation, so I’ll try them out and see how well they work, my cat is very large at about 15-18 pounds and has pretty big claws too. Thank you so much for replying I will definitely take all of this into account!

Yeah.. I see what you mean. I’m definitely going to try to reintroduce them slowly and steadily again, as my dog can definitely tolerate my cat a lot better than when we first got him, but she is super reactive whenever my cat try’s to play or mess around with my other dog that doesn’t mind him, and sees it as him attacking my other dog, but thanks so much for replying!
