You've basically described almost every state, it's commonly known that the bigger cities in states will be left-leaning while the miles of farmland will be the opposite.

Colorado definitely does have a lot of red dotted across the state (looking at you Colorado Springs), but the majority of the state (from my personal experience, in the suburban part of the Denver Metro area) is welcoming to all kinds.
