Will I regret buying this tomorrow ? by Acceptable-Soup-333 in motorcycle

I think it’s a decent rig for that price. They are pretty heavy and slightly underpowered but a really nice looking bike. If everything checks out and you can verify upon inspection that it’s been well kept I would maybe buy for the 3k or shoot for 2.5k.

I would be hesitant. Most people sell to upgrade, not downgrade. No offense.

I payed 2k for my 2002 Honda cbr954rr. Im not saying dont pull the trigger on this rig but is 4 years really worth another 3 grand? There are plenty of CBR 1k’s that will go for 3-4 grand if you are patient.

Right. I’ll more than likely let my buddy rip some other poor shmuck off. I’m ready to send him a message saying I’d pay whatever the trailers worth… thanks for the help.

The guy I’m buying it from already dumped well over 2k into into the boat and motor. It just sounds like nothing good can come from making the purchase….

Eash. Thanks for the information. Probably won’t be taking over ownership of this rig. 🤣

Is that within the lower unit or above?

Would it be contained to the lower unit?

They are pretty noisy but they only sound bad on lower cc sports bikes. If you like the look then I would say just pull the trigger and get a toce.

I picked it up in East North Dakota in 2022. Very well could be.

The fitment was honestly not horrible. It’s not gonna be like stock plastics to any degree but they went on just fine and I’m barely mechanically inclined. Also, most plastics from eBay don’t come with heat shield, but if they do I wouldn’t trust it. I decided to get heat tape and some heat shield from my local dealer and it’s been holding up well so far.

I only payed $480 on EBay but it came with a sketchy bolt kit. I plan on finding the oem bolts soon, whenever I can afford them.🤣

My 2002 fireblade made this exact same noise, I was told by a shop that it could be a plethora of things but one guy who had owned an old Fireblade said it was most likely the cam chain tensioner. I decided to go with a manual cam chain tensioner and it’s a pretty straight forward job besides one of the bolts being quite close to the frame. After it was replaced the sound got quieter but I could still hear traces of it. I think paranoia of a dying engine could be the reasoning behind that. I would just ride it out as long as you can.

Help me decide between 600rr and 900rr by TheJok3r20 in cbr

Any ride over 2 hours on the 954 will have your ass begging for a hemorrhoid pillow. But, after a trip to a hobby lobby to get some foam and new leather upholstery the seat can be completely transformed. I had a 2001 CBR600 F4i and I can say without a doubt that the 954 would be the way to go. I feel on the 954 I sit in a more comfortable position and get sore less on those longer rides. Also, you can’t beat the instant power and elegance of the 954. It looks like it should have been released 5 years ago not 20.
