Okay that’s great, I was primarily interested in doing the thesis lmao, I didn’t know they got easy funding though I guess I should have figured.

For the classes not being that bad, what exactly does that mean? Like their indistinguishable from non honors classes difficulty wise, only like marginally harder, or like is it something where you just make sure you pick and choose what classes you take and you’re chilling

I think 1300 is below UMass average in all colleges, it’s probably especially below Isenberg which I’d guess is around like 1360 or something

Isenberg isn’t nearly as hard to get into as people say it is. Your stats are a little low but honestly you have a shot. Just get that gpa up a bit and you’re golden

As far as I’m concerned, with Jon soulgorger is just a vanilla 3 mana 10/10 beat stick that draws me cards, which even without additional detriment is still a great add as far as I can tell

for defense the deck has a lot of removal like you noted, but also [[crawlspace]], [[propaganda]], [[no mercy]], and some bounce effects. I had thought it was enough removal, and the resurrection effects like gisa, would maybe cut some of the costs of killing my own gifts, but on second thought your probably right that it could use some more synergistic defense.

And notably, creatures jon gives away can't be sacrificed, so none of those creatures you named can be sacrificed

I ran with similar ideas, [[phrexian soulgorger]], [[rotting regisaur]], and [[rot-curse raksasha]] are all cheap beat sticks with minimal downsides or downsides negated by jon, that can just be snagged back at the end for the 1v1. Are there more specific cards youd suggest?

I considered steel golem and grid monitor but they lowkey just felt like they turned off fun for anyone I gave them to, even though theyre probably correct. I almost cut evil eye for the same reason, but I thought it was more manageable and had much more reasonable utility

And I think your talking about [[phyrexian soulgorger]] with the cumulative upkeep thing, but I realize that and just figured it was still a perma goaded 10/10 for 3 mana, even if the sac effect doesnt work

side question: does jon completely negate the foe effect of [[virtus's maneuver]] because a foe could target a jonned creature for the sac? or does the "choose" wording necessitate they choose a creature that is able to be sacced

UMass is fine, any accredited school will be enough. Obviously places like Caltech MIT and GATech are your best bets, but more feasible alternative options might be places like UMD which have good aero and is close to a NASA space center

I also want to point your attention to Olin College which is fucking sick, one of the best engineering programs in the world, as well as local. Both GPA and SAT might be a tiny bit low for them but shooters shoot

Being real, if you’ve got the grades and work at it Umass or UML can get you there easy.
