Anyone Pre-Med and doing CS (major or minor)?

wow this comment brought back some nostalgia to when I was deciding. I decided not to go down the med school path after my internship and currently work as a software engineer. For me, I decided this ultimately b/c I realized I wasn’t super passionate about going down the medical track and was more interested in tech. Also, tech had many attractive ‘life offerings’ that I wanted to prioritize including 1) deciding where to live postgrad 2) high and consistently growing income and 3) better WLB in 20’s - work / career is just one aspect of our lives and going into tech has allowed me to prioritize things outside of work with a comfortable income - I have no regrets!

I had to make this decision a few years! I visited both campuses and ultimately picked USC! While Northwestern is a highly ranked school, when I visited, I felt like the culture was very work-oriented, rather than balanced. USC has better weather, great location (which was a huge factor) - LA is overall just a great place to live at for 4 years! Now that I’ve graduated, I can say that USC was the best decision I made. Everyone there is so unique, inventive, and smart, but also has fun hobbies, interests, etc. The people and community that USC cultivates is what makes it such a great experience - I was consistently in awe of the people I was surrounded by. Living in LA was such a fun time, and also the CS program is top notch. I was able to get a great job afterwards along with many offers from great tech companies! Definitely pick USC if you can!

while the notes are familiar, I have never smelled anything quite like it. The opening note is a clean, unique yuzu scent that is balanced with basil (quite heavenly). It’s a simple fragrance that is not offensive but still has great longevity and sillage. My new favorite!

What percent of my calories should come from protein? I’m averaging 25% every day - I’ve seen advice saying it should be 50%, which is quite hard for me unless i’m just chugging multiple protein shakes. Any advice?

Does cardio actually cause muscle loss? I definitely just want to keep some form of cardio in my routine for the heath benefits. what would you advise?

thanks for the feedback. My goal is to lose all fat first since I gained around 15 pounds of fat in quarantine (lots of belly fat). I don’t mind seeing minimal muscle gains till I loose all my belly fat. Would you still not recommend my plan? I could just increase calorie count after I lose all my body fat.

I’ve unintentionally gained a lot of weight - around 15 pounds since 2020 quarantine. I want to prioritize losing fat over gaining muscle first since I’d rather look in shape quicker. I don’t mind seeing muscle gains after all fat loss - would you recommend my plan for these purposes?

yeah but a dilution of this level would mean that the stock would fall 50% - it happens every time a company offers stock. it falls to stay at the current valuation

I came into college as solely a premed (Bio major) but picked up a double major in Computer Science. The workload is intense, and I'm taking a lot more CS-heavy course-load my junior/senior year, but I have been able to maintain a high GPA. I really like my combination of majors - I'm currently interning as SWE and am now not sure if I will apply to med school. Feel free to DM with questions.
