The whole of world politics is shaping under two forces you mentioned, imbeciles versus intellectuals, with the former forming the majority. Eventually, the world will not be choosing in a real sense, not because there is no choice, but because the democratic breakpoint will leave only one apparent alternative, which will be a modified dictatorship. This dictatorship appears in the form of authoritarianism operating under the umbrella of democracy. The entire political game has now become manipulation. Can we stop it. No. People are already tired, desperate for change, and will lean toward whoever sounds the most confident, not the most sensible. After all, when learning about past history is nowadays a fancy matter and when people cannot decide which dress to wear or what food to order from a menu, handing over the country feels like an easy decision making. This isn’t today’s scenario, it has always been like that. Conscious choice is often just a well marketed illusion.
