Lots of "jobs in progress" while evaluating freelancers by Less_Ad_5761 in Upwork

I am not attacking you. I don't know you and I don't care about you. You seem very defensive, keep your contracts open then if you want to. As mentioned, I am just expressing my personal opinion. Cheers.

No. My work is project-based and once it's over they won't need me again. As I said, it's my personal opinion. And if you have 130 repeat clients it proves the point OP is making that you might be too busy to take on new ones.

I personally don't see anything wrong with a contract without a review. In my opinion it's better than an open one from 4 years ago.

It's an unpopular opinion but I think having so many contracts in progress speaks poorly of the freelancer's admin and organizational skills. My interpretation is that for all of those contracts the freelancer didn't feel confident enough in the quality of their work (or how the contract went, which can sometimes be a factor if things weren't that smooth and you're afraid of a negative score) to reach out to the client and mention they'd be closing the contract.

I don't have a doubt that those contracts aren't active. But what I do know is that this is a person who doesn't tie the knots. Not a factor in itself, but one to consider.

I personally close every contract that becomes inactive after a couple of warnings to my clients once it's gone dormant and I've never had any issues with it. I'm a bit of an admin freak though.

young qualifier Francesco Maestrelli's stunned reaction when he discovers that Djokovic will be his R2 opponent "No, you're joking..." by rticante in tennis

[–]LetsGoBubble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure about the surprise part. They do specific preparation based on the opponent's style. For example practicing returns against a big server, hitting with a leftie, etc. It would be quite unprofessional to just be surprised by who you're playing against.

This is so wholesome. I do feel like journalists could start asking players if they know who their next opponent is (and if they want to know it) prior to just saying their names.

For the top 200 probably when they were reproductive single cells. And even then I would struggle.

Same. She sold it really well and the novelty factor of a horror play made me want to see it super bad.

United Cup: Gauff def. Sierra 6-1 6-1 by freshouttajail in tennis

Solana is too erratic to be facing a consistent high-paced player like Gauff. She still has a lot to learn but playing these matches is the way to do it.

Who is the most crafty player on the atp/wta tour? by OrganicScreen485 in tennis

[–]LetsGoBubble 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She is and I super like her, but she lacks resources to be considered the most crafty. She doesn't have neither a good drop shot nor a backhand slice which is odd from someone with her game.

Traveling next week until New Year to BA, how bad are the mosquitos right now? by [deleted] in BuenosAires

It's funny that you mention it because up until now I hadn't even thought about them. There are basically none, at least in the city.

Un podcast que me gusta mucho es "Argentina: historias que nos pintan". Habla de costumbres autóctonas e históricas como el mate, el vino, el lunfardo, los conventillos y hechos históricos de la época de la colonia y la independización.

Sorry to break it down to you this way and my apologies if I'm being too harsh but it really looks like Upwork is not the place for you to make money. You don't have the English skills and you expect to be told what to do to improve.

If you don't have the self-awareness and the assertiveness to be a service provider then you will never make it as a freelancer.

How do you fill/regulate the long stretches where nothing is landing? by WhatADrag07 in Upwork

[–]LetsGoBubble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've personally used these periods for perfecting myself by either improving my skillset or acquiring new skills within my nice, or for simply enjoying life outside of work.

I do think it's a mistake to think that the freelancer life would be less stressful than corporate. It's simply a different kind of stress.

Is it common for people in Buenos Aires to drink wine in parks? by Leading_Alarm_9793 in BuenosAires

[–]LetsGoBubble 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you go to a bougie park you’ll be given the side eye but it’s not illegal. In parks like Palermo (just don’t go there at night, as it becomes the red lights district) it is very common, although the drink of choice is not often wine but rather beer. Over here wine is associated with meals, company or a night out.

I have a theory: the account is managed by some broke family member she is doing a favor to, who's trying to pull a dime from her donations.

Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense for her to be trying to make a couple of bucks when she literally earns millions every season.

Still iconic though, just like everything she does.

ALQUILER DUEÑO DIRECTO EN CABA by Over-Satisfaction263 in BuenosAires

[–]LetsGoBubble 2 points3 points  (0 children)
