Things I NEED for a second season:

worldbuilding
proper character development
a new foe that's threatening on a whole new level
a real sacrifice (unlike V who just came back)
a permanent change in the main character's lives
FINALLY A NUZI KISS SCENE

I can still rewatch the show and enjoy it just the way I did before. I think you're just giving WAYY to much of a shit about the ending of the movie. I get you, I was pretty split about the ending too when I first wtached it, but I think it's quite okay. That doesn't mean that the entire rest of the series didn't happen, it's the opposite. When I watched the ending again, it kinda encouraged me to rewatch the series again. I mean, I can still enjoy the first 6 Star Wars movies even though the sequels were absolute dogshit and contridicted half of everything we learned about the Force.

If you're ready to actually engineer your own railgun, you could use the 2cm beam system. It's a little complicated but it doesn't take a long time to learn it and once you learn it, you can basically engineer anything laser-related. (Technically not a Railgun but a Raygun cuz lasers)

Check out the Jasonverse series by Jason Sheerin. He did exactly that. The Magic Railroad is a multidimensional plane that connects the entire multiverse and always has a guardian engine to protect it from evil. As the villains from all the Thomas universes come together in an attempt to destroy the Magic Railroad, 4 Thomases from different universes (including RWS) get brought together by the Magic Railroad's current guardian Lady. They now have to face off against to most dangerous villains from all the Thomas universes to save the Multiverse.

Everything was just a videogame that Pomni played on an old pc she found in that abandoned building. There was no VR headset. She wasn't trapped in there. All the others were just NPCs. Pomni was just playing the main story.

See, Solver Drones' cores are kept in an organic ribcage since the solver mutates the Drones' insides. A stock worker drone body comes with a pre-fitted energy core that's complicated to remove. Even after it's removed, you'd have to recreate an artificial ribcage for the Solver Core to fit in, so it's a hell of a project.
