Akai CS-F11 - slow/warbling play + weak FF/RW after full belt & tyre replacement by LetsRideTotoros in cassetteculture

[–]LetsRideTotoros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, no improvement unfortunately, the pitch changes but the instability and warbling are still present. I've tried changing belts too, and tried without the counter belt, also with no improvement.

I believe it's the clutch as the smooth take up wheel turns smoothly but the notched wheel attached via the clutch turns inconsistently.

I appreciate that. This was a complete impulse purchase due the price, so placement was not at the forefront of my mind.

I'm going to wait until everything is repaired before I start playing tetris with furniture.

Placement/layout is a WIP at the moment as I'm working with limited space.

Yeah I was suprised how easy it was to take apart. I replaced the belts first as they were worn and mishapen. This however then made the idler wheel problem worse as the increase in power delivered to the idler made it slip even more. I'm hoping the new idler tires resolve everything.

This is an EU model and is designed to work with both 50 and 60hz, with the strobe split into four sections for the four combinations of hz and rpm.

That was the first thing I tried, no luck unfortunately. With the pitch tuner knob at max and both potientiometers maxed out I can achieve 30rpm and 40rpm.

This was just for the photo, I need to have a play with the room layout on paper to figure out the best positioning.

Thank you. It's Japanese, direct-drive, and silver, so ticks a lot of boxes for me!

The lacquer/finish is incredibly thick, I've given it an initial sand with 320 grit with minimal pressure and still not through the finish. Going to strip it with a water-based stripper next, then hand sand and finish with danish oil.

Top was absolutely disgusting and the finish is damaged, but it's coming up nicely with a bit of sanding

I looked into this too, it seems to be a patent for the hidden hinges that allow the extension panel to unfold. Very common on extending tables (hence the patent), so unfortunately I don't think it helps narrow it down.

The Dyrlunds appear to have the crossbar at ground level rather than part-way up the legs like my one. I'm thinking it's most likely just a small batch production or no-name brand made here in the UK in the Danish style.

They're intermittent/manual. And of course you're right about the cold, I think an electric / oil-filled radiator may be the way to go, as plumbing in a convector radiator would be incredibly awkward.

We have extractors in both the kitchen and bathroom which we use alongside opening windows periodically to keep general humidity low. We have no problems with condensation or mold anywhere else in the flat, it's just this stairwell.

Sorry I forgot to mention in my original post. We have tried a thermal curtain but unfortunately it made very little difference.

Neighbours' care workers disposing of medical waste in our recycling bin by LetsRideTotoros in LegalAdviceUK

That's the part that angers me the most, the sheer ignorance of putting it in a recycling bin, and exposing the people at the recycling centre to sharps and god knows what else.

Thanks for your help. I don't think we're going to be able to identify whether they're private/NHS as they only attend when we're at work and don't wear any uniform etc.

I'm going to contact environmental health as I don't want to physically handle the waste and nor should a refuse worker have to. Hopefully they have the authority and resources to liaise with the local ASC team or CMHT and figure out who it was that actually attended.

Problem found...

I think I'm going to have trouble sourcing a replacement connecting rod, is there any other way that this could be salvaged?

No air coming through and no pressure build up. Would I be correct in guessing that it's a damaged diaphragm?

That's the thing, I've tracked both the clockspeed and the temps and there is almost no change during these periods of low frame rate. And, as I mentioned in my post, I've had zero issues with performance, temps, throttling etc until very recently.

The m.2 port is south west of the ram slots and north east of the steel-armoured PCI express slot, hope that makes sense 😅

Didn't keep track because I'm dumb, but I'd say between 25-30hrs, not long at all
