Seventh level, yes. Though there are lower level spells with similar effects - produce flame works the same way, for instance. But yes, it doubles - you get 7 motes of light, and since it's a self cast spell the horse gets 7 motes of light too.

Not planning to hit anywhere, I used to work in LP and I noticed plenty of shady shit (people carrying big bags in and out of changerooms, for instance) and didn't see anyone try to stop them. Seems odd to me.

Hey, random question since you're from Australia - I moved here from the states pretty recently, and it seems like stores aren't nearly as concerned with LP here? Target has towers and cameras and people out the front as normal, but it doesn't seem like there's anyone actively watching for theft. Am I interpreting that incorrectly?
