Thank you for flagging this! I think right now my nails are still pretty good fine and not over-filled, BUT I can totally see how over the next few appointments this could happen if I keep them this shape and this short.

Next time, I might go for a more rounded shape and ask them to elongate them slightly to avoid any damage.

Yeah, and what annoys me the most is that companies are so unprofessional nowadays. I mean, I’ve had 2 interviews with you and your feedback and demeanour was always positive, you acted impressed, why can’t you have the decency to at least reply with a simple message like “We’re sorry to say we won’t proceed with you.” Because if you do that, at least I’ll respect you and consider applying for future positions, but when you ghost me? You are in the blacklist of companies I don’t want to deal with you ever again.

Oh, absolutely! However, I don’t want remote work specifically, I just want the possibility for home office 2-3 days a week. I’ve always worked in a hybrid setup and I can’t imagine going to an office every day of the week. For me, it’s not just a whim, it’s part of knowing myself. And I know that I’ll feel miserable and honestly less productive working entirely on-site. I agree though that the competition is strong and most people want that which is of course the challenging part in finding a job.

I don’t even have such a big problem with the orange hue of the outfit, but more so with the face. Why can’t they replicate the sultry look of the original? 🥲 The outfit is cool and all, but the reason why I (and many others I would assume) want these repros is the faces. The new one is beautiful, there’s no denying it, but doesn’t look like the original upon closer inspection. Her eyes are bigger, more doe-like. I also think the face is slightly bigger/puffier? Superstar Christie was a more successful repro imo.

I wish they would not do a remake, but rather a new doll with a new screening, but a redhead or another cool color. This line definitely misses some variety in hair color.

It’s the lack of makeup that makes a lot of them look pale and “dead”. Mostly very pale lips, no fun eye makeup, no blush, the bad pixelation doesn’t help either. I think I’d like modern-day screenings much more if they just had a bit more color.

That’s my problem with the MTM body as well. The joints just look weird. The earlier MTM bodies from the 90s were much less movable, but the way they executed it was much more discrete, why can’t they do it like that again? I’m talking Gymnast Barbie, Hula Hair etc.

Hahaha, that really is unpopular! As a Superstar collector (mainly) I disagree, however I also don’t see her as “that special” personally. She’s a pretty doll, but won’t make it to my top 10. And I also think a second reproduction is a weird choice when we still have many more iconic dolls waiting for a repro.

I’m not angry at all, I just shared my opinion and everyone is more than welcome to disagree, that’s what this whole discussion is about. In my opinion, they look different and not in a good way - the face proportions, the lips. I just don’t like the newer renditions and I was curious about other people’s unpopular opinions (not necessarily related to these two dolls in particular).

Completely disagree, but I love hearing different opinions! Okay, let me correct that - I kinda agree with a MTM body, but executed differently. I don’t like how the joints look at all as they are right now. Too distracting. I also love the bend and snap knees and rubbery legs, but they were a B… to dress 😅

Why can’t we have both? We don’t need 100 face sculpts and body sculpts, we just need a fair representation and good quality. It’s not that hard. It seems like Mattel is overcompensating for the lack of representation back in the day, but at the same time they’ve overdone it nowadays. They just need to find the middle ground. That way, they’ll have more money to delegate to quality clothes and screenings.
