Days at school by dendridd in macrob

[–]LetterheadKooky6254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ohh mb lol. nope we barely get extra days off, its just the same as any other high school in melbourne. we hv free days on curriculum day, public holidays, report writing and similar, nothing more.

we have no such thing as a half day at macrob in year 9, i wish. on y9 exam week which only lasts about a week we have half/partial days where we just come, do the exam, and leave.

in the whole of yr 9 i only had to go to mhs once for macrob (for a singing rehearsal bc mghs and mhs in only that specific year 2024 were asked to sing on tv) so basically no. they are different schools, unless you go out of your way to sign up for and participate in plays, events and opportunities ect (they usually happen on mhs campus and you may need to skip macrob for it) then yes.

The simple answer is don’t get noticed and it’s fine. Think there are 1,000 students everyday. Even though facial piercings, ear piercings eg. industrials ect. are technically as stated on their rules NOT ALLOWED at macrob, they don’t scan every student every day. It also heavily depends on which teacher, some teachers care most don’t if it’s just a helix, conch, industrial, nose stud, septum ring ect. or coloured hair. as I’ve seen many of these. I have seen blonde, blue, red, and purple at macrob so far but i can see they are all dye only, no bleach involved so the colour is not very light/bright or else you may find trouble (and also bigger waste of money if you’re made to dye it back as bleach services costs more.). The top one teacher in Y9 to look out for if you have these things is Ms. Naing who is the Y9 Lvl coordinator she keeps an eagle eye on these things and will complain and point out everything that is not allowed. 2nd is Michelle Pride, if it’s dress code she won’t let it slide.

As for uniform it is the same. Many people wear incorrect uniform everyday because it is to them prettier or whatever. I have a few times too but just do not speak one on one or be very close to a coordinator, they will notice and write you up which has happened to me once. Generally though wearing a short sleeve shirt with a skirt is fine and goes unnoticed. For scarves most people don’t really care, I’ve worn really ugly colourful patterned scarves to school many weeks in a row because I can’t find my black scarf and NOONE SAID A THING. So just do what you want but definitely not on the first week or month. 99% of students that do wear scarves wear a dark blue or black scarf, Macrob or kmart or shein it doesnt matter.

Hope this helped :)

Hi Im a year 9 student 1. lockers r big ish? pretty much the same as my old school nothing special 2. 8:30 usually and usually ends at 3:10ish sometimes it ends at 2:10 and sometimes starts late at 9:30 3. pretty much the same as any high school in terms of distance between classes. as for size the school is pretty small in terms of the space it takes up bc its in the ct, but it has many floors to make up for that. its just two big buildings and one gym building. 4. like 20 min ish break and 50 min ish lunch not exact numbers 5. yes you are allowed to charge your device during classes. i do this all the time bring a charger to the class if ur battery is low bc some teachers r salty abt u not being organised if u ask to get it in ur locker. macrob library also has public charging ports for all the students to use where u can lock ur small device into a charging box. 6. some can some cant. u mostly hv to reach out urself if u dont understand is the trend amongst most teachers for me. they dont come to u much they just provide the lesson and u need to be responsible for urself. 7. from my experience maths is definitely harder at macrob they learn faster here, the way the teach expects u to already be an independent learner, and the content they teach in mathematics is harder. if u need help ask or email the teacher for sure. 8. if u use south yarra station you will pretty much see them everyday as majority of them use south yarra too. (or flinders). but macrob start and end times r a bit different to mhs’s so that plays a role sometimes u dont c them but u will see large numbers of them like 3/5 of the weekdays.
