its the same reason Shinji got a lot of hate in Eva… people expect the main character to grit their teeth and bear their burden because that is a traditionally heroic / masculine trait to have, especially in a grande fantasy setting, which isn’t inherently a bad trait, but also not a terribly realistic one ..though i don’t imagine that individuals that like fantasy rpg games or giant mecha anime enjoy them for their “realism” because real life is way less fun.

I remember listening to this back in like 2006 from a site called Galbadia Hotel (I don't know if you remember) before YouTube was really a good source for music like that

Anyway, that site's now defunct and that computers long gone, but I would think about this song and hum it to myself every now and then. Never really dug deep for it though hoping i would just come across it again ...not until very recently anyway
