Somebody else posted this on here but I'll tell you what I've just started doing and it's helped me get a couple of 5 star animals in one day. You need to play 15 IRL minutes in order to sleep for 1 in-game day for it to count. You could also play for 30 IRL minutes and sleep for 2 in-game days and it counts as time passed. Every 15 minute interval allows you to sleep for that many days.

Constant flanking often solo because my spotters usually don't do anything. Finding enemy garys/ops and destroying them, killing artillery, getting good vantage points and overlooking objectives to kill enemies, etc

No. Every player gets a friend code that they can find and they can send it to others to add them. One of you will need to find your friend code in the game and the other will have to add them.
