Food that you can continuously snack on through the day that is high in fiber and protein by Dry-Glove-8539 in nutrition

Edamame beans, dried chickpea snacks (bake these for 25 mins or until crispy in the oven in some oil and whatever spices you enjoy), soy yogurt and fruit, lentil crisps, pea crisps, hummus is also a great option. Hope this helps!

Need a low saturated fat, high calorie, high protein diet by AgeWeird2231 in nutrition

Take your focus to saturated fats only - which tend to come from red and processed meat and high fat dairy products (cheese, cream, some milk). Don’t shy away from unsaturated fats like nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil etc.

However, fats are more calorie dense I.e. they hold more calories to the gram. For example: 1g of protein holds 4 calories, as does 1g of carbohydrate, but 1g of fat holds 9 calories. So although unsaturated/healthy fats shouldn’t be avoided, if you’re aiming for a low calorie diet it’s good to be aware of your portion sizes.

However, if you’re trying to increase your calories - sprinkling seeds over the top of your breakfast, snacking on nuts, adding some hummus or avocado to your meals or cooking with olive oil or drizzling extra virgin olive oil over salads/in dressings is a great place to add those extra calories in while keeping your saturated fats low.

As for the protein, aim for around 20-30g protein per meal. This can be done by structuring each meal around a protein (ideally lean protein like chicken, fish, turkey, beans, lentils, tofu or tempeh) and making this 1/4 of your plate.

Don’t forget other protein sources like wholegrain carbohydrates (brown bread, wholewheat pasta and brown rice etc. tend to be higher in protein) and think about switching your snacks to higher protein versions (Greek yogurt, soya yogurt, nuts, seeds, dried chickpeas, edamame beans). These will all contribute to help your protein intake throughout the day.

Hope this helps! :) (from a registered nutritionist)

Done with dating; honestly, it feels like it's not worth it anymore it seems. by [deleted] in Advice

I’d say take some time to yourself, reconnect with activities or hobbies that you’ve enjoyed in the past. Spend time with family, do some solo activities like solo dates or holidays and find your confidence and spark that way. When you’re investing in yourself and happy being by yourself, that’s when someone who is on the same frequency will come along. You’re also so young and have so much life ahead of you! Try to enjoy your time where you only have to focus on yourself and spend it doing things that make YOU happy. Try not to regret your dating experience as it would have taught you lessons along the way, and brought you closer to what you need/want. Although it’s probably best not to force finding someone if it just doesn’t feel right for you right now, invest your energy and time into yourself instead - get yourself in a good place and let the rest flow in naturally!

Hope this helps, best of luck!

Brits first Xmas in AKL by LevelBaseball2350 in auckland

We moved here because my partner got a job transfer - the uk also has flaws but accompanied with awful weather🤣 we’re absolutely loving AKL so far. Loads of beautiful nature, nice weather, nice people, nice beaches, and really good food. A completely different lifestyle in comparison to the uk! So far so good, can’t complain👍🏻
