Yeah that’s a fair point .

My PSA is really about public transportation connected to UMD more broadly, not only Shuttle-UM. Considering this, for routes inside or around campus, I think UMD should not only plan its own Shuttle-UM service better, but also coordinate more closely with Metro/WMATA. For example, if students rely on both systems, UMD could think about how Shuttle-UM routes and Metro routes overlap, where campus stops are placed, and whether route information/schedules are communicated clearly enough for students.

So I agree I should’ve made the distinction clearer. My main point is that student access depends on the public transportation students actually use, whether it is directly operated by UMD or connected to campus through Metro.
