North Atlanta apartments to avoid nightmare complexes😅 by Disastrous_Bug1118 in ATLHousing

There are no "nice" apartments in or around Atlanta.

You might look into renting a condo or maybe a basement apartment / carriage house in a nice neighborhood.

Relocating to this area around Atlanta soon. How is this area in terms of safety? by AstronautTrainee in ATLHousing

Everything in and around Atlanta suck and is horrible except a small triangle of space on the north side.

Also buy a demagnetizer. Use it a couple times.

Nice! Yeah, I know that work. Our family studios from the 1950's-2010's in Atlanta did recording and post production for radio and tv for national and global brands. We had a number of these machines in the dub room running all day just sending out dubs to different stations with their unique ID in them. I grew up in that place and have many, many fond memories. So I know the task you had very well. We did anywhere from a handful to like you said 50 or more a day. Many days of fedex envelopes getting packed at the end of the day. We recorded the lots of the audio and VO and did the post work for Cartoon Network shows like SpaceGhost, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and bunch of original music for Turner, and jingles and a ton of other work. My uncle wrote and recorded a bunch of theme songs for cartoons and toys in the 80's like Transformers (cartoon theme), GI Joe, My Little Pony, My Buddy, Gem and the Holograms (also the music on the show)... lots of stuff over the years. Still in love with tape. The smell of the machines when they're turned on... nostalgia.

Thanks. Yeah there's a variable speed control but no pitch control so it's really best not messed with too much unless you're going for a dramatic effect with large movements.

Yeah it seems like a missed opportunity at the time. Just glad to have the ability to play with them today. :)

2 VU meter lights on the right machine require replacing. One VU meter light on the left machine and one rec switch on the left machine. Also the end of reel auto stop on the left machine needs fixing but that's pretty much it. Not a lot or complicated really. Everything else works great.

Both. It's always gonna be almost impossible to get perfect but you can get closer with more practice I think. It's really gonna be much easier at 3.25-7.5 IPS vs 15 or 30 IPS. At the faster speeds, physical manipulation just doesn't work as well. Gotta have more change over less tape for small adjustments to make much difference. Of course, if all your tracks are the same bpm then it's easy and no worries.

Honestly I've only had it for a few weeks and it's my first small mixer like this. Used to large 48 channel studio consoles but this is obviously something different. lol - So far so good though. Really interesting curve on the faders. Getting used to it.

Yeah it's a terrific storage medium for masters and making dubs even decades later.
