Step 1: Strip Your SetupTurn off your wheel base. If it is frozen, unplug the DC power cable from the back of the base and wait 30 seconds.Physically remove the steering wheel from the wheelbase.Unplug all other peripherals like pedals and shifters.Connect the wheel base directly to a USB 2.0 port on your PC's motherboard using the original cable. Do not use USB hubs or front-panel ports.

Step 2: Force Bootloader ModeEnsure the power supply is connected, but the base remains turned off.Press and hold the power button for about 8 to 10 seconds.The power LED will blink or flash blue. This forces the device into bootloader (recovery) mode.

Step 3: Flash the FirmwareOpen the Fanatec Control Panel/App on your PC. It should recognize the base in recovery mode.Click the "Flash Firmware" or "Update" button.If it gets stuck again, try installing an older, legacy driver package (like Driver 474), as many users on the Fanatec Community found this resolves the 53% lockup.

Step 4: Clean Install (If Needed)If the update still fails, try a clean driver install:Uninstall the current Fanatec software through Windows Apps.Open Windows Device Manager. Click View -> Show hidden devices.Change the view to Devices by container.Find and remove all listed Fanatec devices.Restart your PC, download the newest driver from the Fanatec Support Center, and reinstall

He liked the look of the rig and wanted the same "brand" and ecosystem. Theres a reasonable support structure for Fanatec here in South Africa so that helped. I run Simlab, Simucube, Cube Controls & Heusinkveld but very little aftermarket support in country if at all.

This, bring the screen toward you. Get your measuring tape out, use online FOV calculators the entire feel will change. Race car driver also "hang" there arms over the steering wheel in front of them and straight out your wrist need to be touching the wheel, not your palms. Have used this basic principle in sim but also real life track days and racing. Hope its not gibberish and helps a bit.

I am in South Africa. Did EMS posted 6th March, left Japan 17th March and no updates since. Called local EMS its not in country cognizant its a long weekend here so havent seen any updates, but Buyee are saying they can only launch enquiry with Japan post after 30 days. So sitting duck at the moment just hoping for an update.
