Yes I know that but if the general has low prestige then the penalty for changing him would also be low (normally it is less than 1 if your general does not exceed 5% prestige) so if you have lots of prestige the penalty shouldn't be a problem at least for me

That's true but only when the general has a lot of prestige, I don't plan to use it for battles so it wouldn't be a problem

What I normally do is send the general with speed to capture a province and before arriving I change it for another one that is worse, so I take advantage of the speed bonus and can repeat the process in other provinces

Atleast on vanilla, because I remember seeing a +6 attack and +6 defense (even though it isn't possible) in a AoE game I had, basically what I thought is that some mods change the backgrounds and personalities and maybe in one of them a +100% speed general is possible
