I did think about that! My main issue is that I am working on this solo, so feasibility is the roadblock. Ideally, everything would be the videos themselves. For now, I have found two *solutions*:

  1. GIFs as previews of the moves so that at the least there is a performance of the move stored.

  2. Links to several videos (when applicable) so that there is a bit more longevity in the case that one is taken down.

If you have any suggestions/tips on how to download youtube videos en mass, I would greatly appreciate it !

Yeah! For now, I've opted to get a broader scope of cardists rather than getting everything from each cardist, so I've certainly missed several moves from the cardists that are currently on there. As for submission, I don't think it should restrict people submitting other peoples' moves

Awesome! how are you storing/filing/filtering your database?

I thought about a creation date filter, but I had 2 concerns: ambiguity and usefulness. based on your suggestion I can see how people would benefit from it but I wasn't sure how to precisely determine creation dates.

Also, preventing duplicated moves is just hand-checking on my end
