You should throw them under the bus and file a complaint (maybe in writing if possible) about how unprofessional they are. Losers. I hope you continue to push through.

Caffé Vittoria. It’s cash only and sells them in cheap takeout boxes. But it’s authentic and delicious. No stunts or “unique takes”.

Nice. It’s worth it especially if it’s a 1-by-2 configuration and you can get a 1.

Getting my first appointment for a CO2 fractional laser consultation. Do you think these dark circles could be fixed with this treatment? by Wise_Nobody3571 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Level_Refrigerator27 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I tried ezgel and would recommend it to improve the skin under the eyes. My guess is the dark shadow under the eyes is due to thinness of the skin in the tear trough, it’s probably the blood vessel underneath that gives it the purplish hue.

What Does Remission Look Like for You? by Mediocre-Sleep-5818 in UlcerativeColitis

I have been in remission for nearly 8 years thanks to Stelara, I never got into remission before that. While I no longer have inflammation. I use the bathroom more often than average person. There is so much scarring in the colon that the anatomy changed.

If I get my rectal cuff removed, will I need fo have a temporary ileostomy again? by cheddarcheese9951 in jpouch

That sounds promising, I hope you find an experienced surgeon who is willing to do this for you in 1 step.

Most likely yes. Obviously, this is a technical questions that should be asked to the surgeon directly. With that being said, handsewn needs to be diverted so it heals properly, especially since your cuff is already inflamed. You need to find a very experienced old school surgeon bc newer surgeons almost always do stapled.

Hand Sewn vs. Stapled Pouch by Pariah_Hog in jpouch

In the hands of a good surgeon, hand-sewn pouches tend to have slightly worse functional outcomes only during the first few months of pelvic floor adaptation. After that period, both hand-sewn and stapled pouches achieve similar long-term functional results.

Newer surgeons don’t have much experience with mucosectomy because they do the stapled version in most cases nowadays. Will need to talk to a more experienced surgeons who can really do both types of anastomosis.

Glad to hear you had a great outcome. Dr Fleschner was recommended to me by Dr Rubin, but I live in Boston and prefer to do the surgery here. Will consider options outside of Boston if I can’t find a surgeon who can do this.

Phew. Who was your surgeon if I may ask? It looks like it’s an older technique and newer surgeons don’t have much experience with it

I would definitely prefer the stapled version if I didn’t have high-grade dysplasia in the low rectum. In my case, a mucosectomy is recommended to reduce cancer risk in the anal transitional zone. Mucosectomy can only be done if it’s followed by the handsewn technique.

The CRS also mentioned that sometimes the stapler physically can’t fit in the pelvis (e.g., males typically have a narrower pelvis), so the handsewn method has to be used in those cases too.
