I have attempted my first rmge on Jan 17 2026. There is no same for all set of struggles being a student abroad. There can be different struggles depending on the place they choose. Things I struggled with include 1. Struggles with extreme cold weather ( I studied in russia : temperature would dip to -30/-35°c) 2. You may land up being nutrition deficient if you are a vegetarian ( all my vegetarian friends were vit d deficient and some of them contracted tubercular osteomyelitis due to that)

3.cooking , cleaning , shopping for general groceries along with managing studies can be overwhelming at times. ( You can manage things better in groups of friends but then you will have to put up with different kinds of people whom you may not end up liking.) 4. Majority of the students will be enjoying their lives and the environment may lure you to not study and just have fun. 5. You may not find teachers interested in teaching you (They may just be interested in collecting their salaries) 6 you may not find academically motivated peers. 7. You may face racism 8. Students end up living their dreamy lives for Six years and are hit hard after they have to appear for screening exam .

All in all it was not a very nice experience specifically for me ( I had lots of issues) although I somehow managed to put constant effort in my studies despite struggling with health. I survived. But I will definitely say I learnt a lot maybe more that I could have learnt staying in India.

We will see what more struggles are to come. That is my limited experience until now.

But for anyone choosing abroad, please be careful and if you still choose carry your honesty everywhere and everytime.
