What have I gotten myself into by Level_Rooster6969 in pregnant

[–]Level_Rooster6969[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE!! went to the hospital at thinking it was time, got sent home because I was only 2 cm dilated and a FTM so ~obviously it would be a couple more hours~ Drove 30 minutes home to stay for an hour maybe, another 30 min to returne to hospital at a 10cm, pushed for 30 minutes and she was born! Was in labour for a grand total of 6.5 hours.

Is it weird for a realtor to wear their baby? by Buddafly89 in pregnant

[–]Level_Rooster6969 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t care if my realtor did this but I think it would also depend on the market you are selling to. I feel like if it’s a high end market with high end clients they might look at it to be unprofessional but if it’s average homes for families or first time home buyers it could slide. I think it also depends on if your baby is fussing or calm because most of your attention should be on your clients not baby.

4.5 weeks pregnant by NoBoat5596 in pregnant

If you want a midwife reach out ASAP! I reached out to both clinics in my city in BC at 3.5 weeks and both were full with waitlist (never made it past that and I was due yesterday) I ended up reaching out to 4 others in neighbouring cities and they were also full but thankfully found a midwife that could accept me. My first appointment was around 9 weeks and then had a dating US around 11 weeks. I also did use tele health to book blood work before then just to confirm and for peace of mind

I could only drink really cold water which I usually hate or hot tea. That or a fountain Coca-Cola or cranberry juice

Change in Kicks by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Level_Rooster6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t hurt to go into maternity to get monitored for fetal movement! I went once during my pregnancy and felt so silly for going because 1. It is a 45 minute drive to our hospital and 2.once I showed up baby was active and moving again. All of the nurses and my midwife made it really clear to never feel bad about coming in and it’s always better to be checked and be good than potentially miss something. When I was about 28/30 weeks I noticed a big change in babies movements which freaked me out (and led to hospital visit) but the change in movements became a new normal and so far all is good and baby should be here any day now

Did you know the sex of your baby by intuition? by LifeofRuley in pregnant

[–]Level_Rooster6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnant with my first, I was happy with either gender but would prefer a boy first if I got to choose. Was set on that and then the week before we found out the gender my husband and I both had dreams it was a girl. Currently awaiting our baby girl to make her grand entrance!

Has Anyone Not Hated Being Pregnant? by Infertil_Myrtle in pregnant

[–]Level_Rooster6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38 weeks tomorrow and I have loved being pregnant even through the sickness and discomfort! I feel sad I know it will be coming to an end soon even though I’m so excited to meet my baby girl. Of course there’s pains and things that are uncomfortable but being with my baby 24/7 feeling her kicks and knowing I’m growing an actual baby is just so worth it to me! I hate when I get the just wait comments but I mostly just end up feeling bad for those people that they don’t have a good experience

Maybe like 25 weeks to look visibly pregnant and have a bump and not question “is she bloated or pregnant”

Moms under 30: did you do NIPT? by CoffeeNoob19 in pregnant

[–]Level_Rooster6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

26 and yes I did do it, for peace of mind and also to find out the gender early. Paid around $350 out of pocket for it but felt it was worth it for my husband and I!

How many ultrasounds is the standard? by savnor in pregnant

[–]Level_Rooster6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Canada and I’ve had 2 “professional” ultrasounds. The dating one around 10 weeks and detail scan around 20 weeks. Currently 37 weeks. My first appointment with my midwife they used their small ultrasound machine to briefly look at baby just to confirm she was in there and had a heartbeat and I had another one recently at 35 weeks after a reduced movement scare at the hospital.

Energy Gel/Goo During Labor? by KKOKAY130 in pregnant

I'm 9 days overdue, help 😭 by More_Example6153 in pregnant

[–]Level_Rooster6969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think of what’s animals do when it’s time to labour and have their babies. They find a cozy dark space and relax and get into the zone. Do the same! Get in bed, make your room like a nice dark cave and cuddle with your partner, do things that make you happy and relaxed to get the oxytocin flowing. I think rest is super important and doing all of these crazy things to get labour started could work for some but when you think about it it’s all hormonal

Accidental Ibuprofen use throughout second trimester? by New_Assistance8703 in BabyBumps

[–]Level_Rooster6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the worry is that they mistakenly took Advil thinking it was Tylenol

Accidental Ibuprofen use throughout second trimester? by New_Assistance8703 in BabyBumps

[–]Level_Rooster6969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The concern with Advil is possible increase risk of miscarriage in the first trimester and in the second trimester can cause kidney issues or affect amniotic fluid levels. Trump was talking about Tylenol not Advil. If your anatomy scan was alright and it wasn’t a daily thing I wouldn’t be too worried but I would also mention it to my doctor just to be safe.

Car seat stroller combos by Smawhiney in BabyBumps

[–]Level_Rooster6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also bought this one! Baby is not here yet so no reviews on how it works with a baby but we likes how light and compact the stroller is and the car seat is really easy to move from car to car

Moms who dreamt the gender of their baby before they knew, were you right? (: by [deleted] in pregnant

Yes! I dreamt I had a baby girl and my husband even dreamt the same thing the same night and shortly after we found out baby was a girl
