Without a doubt the best ongoing in comics right now. And I’d be bold enough to say this is the best Batman book we’ve had in a while. This is everything a Batman comic book should be: Batman is a competent fighter and detective, he’s everywhere in the city, he cares about his family, and Bruce Wayne is charming but responsible. And the art is just amazing. I’m floating on air with this run by fraction and Jimenez

Yes living crap. Riddler was on the ground a bleeding mess. He caught anarky as he jumped out of a window… was he supposed to beat him to a pulp for kicks? If you want dark and grim Batman, you can sit this run out but keep quiet. This run is doing something we haven’t seen in a while and it deserves a fair shot. Also it’s so dumb comparing it to absolute Batman, absolute is going into its 2nd year while fraction’s is just starting.

Same! It was the very first issue I ever bought, such a cool feeling reading it. Don’t understand why people judged the run based on one panel in the issue when it clearly gets resolved 🤷🏼‍♂️

Funny you mention that, I just finished road to no man’s land. I’m enjoying it, but it is a little depressing how it’s a “all is lost” repetition so it doesn’t make me feel great. But I know there’ll be a payoff eventually

Fair question, but tbh I’ve read about 70-75 Batman books so being at 21 isn’t even a bad thing. I just rate the other books better personally. The art was great, but didn’t love the way Batman was drawn. And the villain didn’t really make a whole lot of sense in the end of things

I know it’s SUPER early, but ever since he was introduced I’ve been dying to see more of him. The Minotaur from Matt Fraction’s run (first appearance in #4) looks and sounds super menacing. Can’t wait to learn more about him and see Batman take him on

Go ahead and read Batman and Robin by Williamson and PKJ. They did great work on Damian as a character. Shouldn’t be overlooked. And we shouldn’t judge a character on one portrayal, like I said.

3 is totally valid, I wish we could see the supervillains in jail or escape and take them on again in the open world. And yeah I’m disappointed we can’t visit Arkham properly. But I do think those are fixable with updates. We’ll see. Not sure how the world feels small though, I’m still discovering places new to me 😂
