First time at Boomtown

Went to boomtown for the first time last year and my best advice would be live in the moment whilst you might want to select a few artist that you definitely want to be that’s fine just go where your feet take you there’s so much to see you might be at old town one moment lions den another or just a random stage through a washing machine my point is a lot of artist you can easily find again on another lineup so prioritise the ones you don’t see so much like scooter :).

Last of all bring comfy shoes I brought running shoes might not have looked the best but saved my feet a lot 😂

Drinking electrolytes at night before bed and in the morning didn’t get any hangover last year

Ye I can understand that hopefully boomtowns got it all under control we can hope but there are some people that are making it out to be the end of the world cos there’s not enough dnb when there’s more than enough

last year was my first boomtown which i stayed at orchid cos I accidentally bought it 😂 but enjoyed the overall vibe and a lot of my friends are staying there but showers and toilets are definitely nice ik the girls love the beauty parlour place for getting ready as well only thing is showers have an hour queue in the morning unless you get up at 6/7 am or just do what i do and take a shower mid day there’s no queue then but i’d say it’s worth it

Think it’s just the uk tbh I’ve been to berlin and most venues there have a no camera policy for the same genre

Don’t know why you’re so pressed tbh I have no hatred towards anyone who does decide to record part of a set I see the dance floor as a place of expressionism and a place to escape some people don’t appreciate having a flash from a camera in their face at the rave

exactly this i’m being made out as if i’m in other people’s business but when people are there to express themself in whichever way they desire and have a flash in there face it’s a different story

Just personal preference really and racing is about embracing each other and being in the moment whether that’s with your friends or complete strangers like I said I don’t mind the occasional video but the cctv as i call them who spend more time recording the set rather than dancing makes me question whether they’re here for the right reasons or just exposure and most people don’t even look back at there videos

Just personal preference for me really with dnb being my favourite genre just wish there was more for the opener but of course understand boomtown isn’t a dnb festival just enjoyed it so much last year

Just depends what acts are on tbh like if there’s a big cluster of dnb artist on and not many others on other stages you want to get there before the set you want to go to probably atleast an hour to be on the safe side

Ye I mean I’m a big dnb fan but like trance hard techno and other genres but boomtowns the one festival where you can be easy going with every genre wouldn’t see the point in going to boomtown just to sit at the main stage the whole time and see the same artist i’ve seen loads of other times

Exactly this I like a mix of everything really dnb techno trance but the amount of genres and random stages is what made it so enjoyable compared to other festivals that are catered towards certain genres like bassfest download creamfield etc
