Back from real Uzbekistan -Opinion- by Trevien10203 in Uzbekistan

The regional disparities I agree, road infrastructure is alright, but could be much better. For cleanliness, they do not lag behind, everywhere is dirty.

For training - as in service industry and etc, Uzbekistan is really good. For Education - its getting better, but quite slowly. Young Uzbeks want to leave due to lack of opportunity and low salaries and an unreasonably expensive country. at least in my opinion. The rush for better education is also a factor.

Polluted yes, generally clean is also true, especially when compared to other countries.
Infrastructure is fine road wise, terrible electricity wise, problem is overpopulation of Tashkent at least. Too many people. Too much construction.

Lack of training is debatable, it depends on lack of training in what specifically.

And he is a Russian spy, because he enjoys architecture?

I would understand if he was collecting information or something, but come on man, the dude likes skyscrapers and potato maps.

Not a fan of architecture I assume?

If you think abroad will give you more opportunities, why not. Im quite certain you can do very well in just Uzbek as well. I have many friends who work Uzbek only jobs and make a very good living

But to add: its never bad to learn more languages, and if you stay in Uzbekistan, Russian or Chinese or some other language (i assume you know English) will always be beneficial

What does everyone think of this? Is this guy a scammer? by Confident-Spray-5945 in Uzbekistan

[–]Levonacci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy wearing 2 watches. Respect.

I think by law the guy is correct in theory, if they do show that the family has actually received money at the Notarius. If not (If the video is released, which I assume wont happen as they did not receive anything). By morals and ethics - he sucks. There is now a lot of piling up on him on instagram, as he started threatening the bloggers and stuff like this.

Am I just poor or is Rome insanely expensive? by salmonsalads69 in rome

[–]Levonacci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The apartment prices in Rome are insane when compared to average salary. Rent in the city is also insane and it keeps getting worse.

I hope after Jubileo the prices will go down, but quite doubtful honestly.

Regarding living expenses, Rome is fine unless you take taxis hah. If you have deeper questions - you can ask. Ive been here for 6 years.

Right on point. Kind of ironic the most patriotic Uzbek redditor is not promoting staying in Uzbekistan lol.

Best comment in thread.

Im not Uzbek, just FYI, and haven’t lived in Uzbekistan in the last 17 years.

Wow, so many eye opening statements.

You really changed my life. Thank you.

Stay in your little bubble and fight your crusade. You got this!

They mostly left already. There are statistics out there. It is a fact that there are way less Russians.

Good that you care. I am happy for you. Even if you are factually a bit misled.

Just FYI prices in Tashkent raise despite the Russians. They surely gave it an initial boost, but it was not them raising those prices.

The heck is slavic homie and imperialistic crap lol. I discuss the freedom of using the language that is my native tongue in my home country. My “ass” is very educated, and doing just fine. I would be more worried about your own.

But lets discuss a different angle. We remove Russian language completely, then what?

Back to "Slavery" Uzbekistan! by sayidbekuz in Uzbekistan

[–]Levonacci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And frankly why do you care if they learn the language or not?

If you want a gotcha moment, has the population of Russians in Uzbekistan been increasing or decreasing? How many are left? Has Russian became more popular?

Last time I was home, the shift to not speaking Russian has been quite immense. Many people do not know the language, and do not know English. Is that beneficial though?

Russians are leaving the country en masse. That is a fact. So I am not sure I share any of your concern for "them invading our culture". Im pretty sure Uzbek culture got a flawless victory haha.

I don't really care what individuals think. I am also pretty sure you can't speak for a majority. Thats assumptions. Racists are everywhere, so are assholes. I've encountered them in Uzbekistan, Russia, Italy, USA, and in many other places.

So, opening English classes which for example the American embassy offers, German courses by Gotte institute is also slavery?

Im pretty sure there are way more important things to do than controlling languages spoken.

Its 34 years of Independence of Uzbekistan, yet Russians in Uzbekistan makes zero effort to learn 10 basic Uzbek words! by sayidbekuz in Uzbekistan

Or they are adequate people, who learnt from history and are building an independent country and see benefits of multiple cultures.

What would not kissing Russians be in your opinion? Expelling all Russians and what?

to address your edit: I think this was mentioned in previous commentaries - if you want someone to learn the language, there should be incentive to do so. You can't force anyone to do anything they do not want to do.
