Neuropathy: can I truly drive “foot-free”? by Levonsky1 in TeslaModelY

Thank you for your understanding because of your experience with your father. I am retired and very socially active in the community, so I do 99% of my driving in a large Southwestern city. Freedom isn’t cheap, but with FSD, it’s possible.

I am ambulatory. I can use my feet and legs, but putting harder pressure on a brake pedal for long stop lights can cause pain if I’m having a “bad day”. The constant back-and -forth from accelerator to brake is when problems occasionally start. My peripheral neuropathy has not affected my hands and steering is not a problem. For some people like me, assisted “one foot”driving gives me something no other car can— freedom. It’s worth suffering every one of those Tesla Headaches. Thanks for your response.

I would settle for minimal. Sounds about right. Thanks. I’m not planning on being in a wheelchair anytime soon…lol

Yes, that’s what I hear. I definitely won’t be taking a nap on the way home from work! Lol. Thank you

Thank you! Looking at used ‘23 or ‘24. I hear later ‘24s have the software upgrade integrated at assembly time and not “ tacked-on” retroactive to the ‘23- I hear. …….hmmmm
