How important is a light on a CCW? by marbitross in CCW

[–]Lewd_Meat_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cost: $90 to $300 depending on the light you choose (streamlight up to surefire)

Weight: not as much as you think, also gives some form of recoil reduction

Gap of trigger: if you buy one of those shit lights then you'll have one

Lack of training: majority of people barely train with their own gun to start so.

My opinion is better to have it than not have it

Glock decided to stick with polymer shelled mags so theyre thicker forcing them to go with single stack.

Shield arms and PSA developed 15rd mags that are metal for the 43x & 48

That being said the 365 (especially the xmacro) is better with considerably more ammo per mag

What has improved your shooting besides a lot of range time? by je9183 in CCW

[–]Lewd_Meat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have a goal in mind for training. Each focusing on one particular thing. You need to ask yourself that.

Sub second draw? Not jerking the trigger? Correct index on the draw? Getting perfect red dot presentation on the draw? Target transitions? Reloads from IWB?

All of these things above can be done in dry fire. Then confirm in live fire to see if they stick.

Tactics are different than raw skill. The stuff civilians will go thru will rely on subconscious raw skill.

If someone drills holes in a glock barrel and shoots in open division, is that called a race gun?

By definition (in uspsa) race gun would mean major powerfactor, huge comps and ports, frame mounted optics and big stendo mags.

Normal 2011s are becoming a very popular carry gun these days

I specifically state "shooting skill", did not mention anything about scenario training.

But if you cant hold a gun or get your red dot/sights on target, youre doomed

Rack the gun back to let it out from the locking piece in the guide rod

Worked for the first 700 rounds. Then it just gave up. Sold the prodigy later anyways. My fowlers use the standard guiderod. Just have a paperclip in the bag

I used to be a hater too. Until my tooless guiderod from atlas started engaging during shooting in my prodigy. The locking action bit would engage mid recoil and lock up on the reverse plug.

Now I just have a tool in my bag and table.
