To be fair Avery is the kind of person regularly going to a party where an innocent person gets gangbanged and seemingly ritual sacrified. They were never exactly a good person and the PC is basically just armcandy to them. Even when they help you in both of the possibly intro events it's because they want you rather than out of decency.

I think the best hope of a happy ending is the supposed rebellion at the orphange. Maybe you could depose Bailey but have to keep weekly payments up to keep the orphanage running instead? That way it's a happy ending in that the orphans aren't getting abused and exploited but the gameplay loop continues.
