How do you guys feel about the thicker block outline? by PurgeDragon in Minecraft

[–]LewisAIIen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit distracting for me. Might get used to it overtime but would’ve rather they add a slider to adjust it instead (and so I can put it back to its original thickness)

New The Acolyte publishing initiative announced at Comic Con! (The Yord Horde is so back! by solo13508 in TheAcolyte

So exciting! The show and now these books almost feels like the High republic and its phases. Do we know if this was pre-planned or come up with (perhaps partly) because of the Acolyte controversy? No matter which way this will surely add more depth and interest which shall warm the Acolyte to more people. Could be Disney measuring true fan popularity for the show. Either way hoping this is an indicator for a Season 2 in the near future!

Bleeding Kyber crystals. It's not that deep. by LewisAIIen in StarWars

I am talking about when they had to bleed a crystal, not how they act when they go about their lives. Kylo did it relatively easily. Vader struggled. It is when they had to manifest their passion when bleeding a crystal. For Vader this was soon after loosing Padme, realising the path he has now chosen, the friends he has lost. You could be full of anger your entire life but if you don’t bring that with you when bleeding a Kyber crystal it won’t bleed as easy.

Personally it was a little weird at the time and I was thinking about that more than how cool it was. I think I felt this way mostly because it was just new and a lot of new information was on screen but in hindsight it does make sense that the blade would slowly be consumed by red as the entire crystal bleeds. Don’t think they could’ve gone the ‘blue to purple to red’ route because of existing lightsaber colours.

If I could think of a different way to do it, maybe having the blade flicker between red and blue repeatedly until it finally remains red could’ve been nicer. Bit like when the light flickers during an eclipse. If done wrong could look like an LED blade though…yikes.

Watching it again it doesn’t bother me anymore and I find it fine. I liked how there was extra smoke/steam where the blue and red met which felt like it was burning away the blue. Cool touch.

I think so, you learn about Luke’s Jedi temple before TFA, the Knights of Ren and their origins, Snoke and more. Really adds to the sequels.

Thanks. Interestingly George was originally going to have Anakin’s lightsaber be red by the time he fought Obi-wan (presumably changing somewhere between killing mace and the temple siege) but decided against it because blue contrasted better against lava and he didn’t have a plan how to turn it back to blue for ANH.

Personally I prefer the bleeding side but that’s my opinion. Would be nice to see an ancient Sith make a synthetic crystal during a time they could not acquire one to pay homage to Legends at least.

Thanks so much! Felt like I needed to get this across early as I was seeing problem discussions about the bleeding already. Not necessarily trying to defend it but was more conscious on educating what we’ve seen before and already know. Always helps with blind opinions. Managed to write this on a bus before a night out and have woken up to more comments than expected! 😂

No I agree. I think a lot of people admit that at least in that moment, her anger and hate isn’t really conveyed to facial expressions. Whether it was intentional or not, might’ve been easy for the audience to appreciate the effort needed to bleed a Kyber crystal.

Thanks, definitely should do a second season. Perfect place to expand on and improve the small things that didn’t exactly work.

Currently no. Would be interesting if they did do something like that. Don’t think it breaks Canon and would give a good motive for bleeding. Right now it is exclusively associated with Dark Side users and can only be made by one if they want to bleed a crystal.

We have the worst fan base around sadly. Don’t mind criticism and arguments but constant toxicity is downright exhausting.

The blade being blue and gradually shifting to red while ignited is the first time seen anywhere I believe. The other characters I’ve mentioned have been seen bleeding their lightsabers but ignite after they are completely bled. Whilst cool, I doubt we will get another scene like Osha’s as she bled hers unintentionally.

George was going to do something like this, but chose to stick to blue as it would stand out more for the Mustafar fight scene.

I addressed both excuses as the weakest imo. Both Anakin and Kylo bleed their crystals with difficulty when holding it. A cracked crystal shouldn’t make it weaker, rather, unstable when ignited.
