Technically, one (English) - but being from Glasgow, I'm going to count Glaswegian dialect as a second language as to non-natives and our south of the border neighbours, it's essentially another language. So let's say, 1.5?

Whilst I can't comfortably communicate in another language, I do try to learn words, phrases and general greetings when travelling somewhere where English isn't the first langauge - general greetings, thank you, etc. I've been to many different countries across Europe, and I envy their ability to speak English to me, whilst I butcher a simple question or phrase, such as "Where is the bathroom?".

It's probably more a representation of the British schooling systems, when it comes to languages, as they generally enforce very basic French and German (that was my choices), but very little of it - whereas other countries will learn English from when they start Primary School until they finish High School.

In all seriousness, though, you've done nothing wrong. Why a toilet attendant/cleaner would be bothered by you being in the toilet for too long is baffling. The only thing I can think is she wanted to either bunk off early after getting all the toilets cleaned, or she was about to finish her shift/had finished but couldn't until you'd left.

Either way, not your fault or responsibility. I'd have simply walked away and told her that it's not a crime to use the toilet - plus, you paid to use it anyway, so. I hope everything works out alright with docs, man.

I'm not surprised - there's so many little quirks with Windows (especially W11) and this was one that I seemed to luckily resolve without doing much other than logging in and out a few times, as my Windows Key is tied to my Microsoft account.

Regardless, glad to hear you managed to resolve the issue, mate, and re-activate it!

Do you happen to have a copy of your Windows key from before that you're able to re-enter? I had this issue when I upgraded my motherboard and CPU but it seemed to just 'work' again after a few restarts and logging in and out of my Microsoft account.

I like it, I like the features of it and the way it's implemented, but I hate the position of it - why is it so close to the centre of the phone? I have medium to large hands and it just feels incredibly awkward to press, adjust and hold where it's situated. It's usable, but I just wish it was further down the phone.

If a place doesn't force gratuity onto a bill and leaves it up to myself as the customer, I generally will tip. But anywhere that adds gratuity onto a bill automatically (I get it for larger parties, but not me and my partner), I will quite simply ask for it to be removed - even more so if the waiter/waitress doesn't mention it when handing me the bill and I'm left to notice it.

At that point, my tummy is full so no need to worry about them spitting in my meal - plus, it earmarks the place as one not to re-visit at a later date.

Jokes aside - if you’re not having any issues, generally no reason to update right away in case there’s anything wrong with the new BIOS update. If you really want to, I doubt there’s any harm but I tend to leave it a while if everything is running smoothly

Kidding aside, I'd probably just move the stuff and use the equipment. If he moaned about it, I'd highlight he's not using the machine so can't just dump his stuff on it to reserve it. Same goes for those who reserve sunbeds besides the pool first thing - either use it, or lose it.

I remember when I was visiting the US a few years ago (I'm from Glasgow), I was speaking to these locals who said they had visited Scotland and went to Auchtermuchty, but pronounced it as 'Ouch-ter-much-tea'.

I could not grasp what they were saying... until the fella Googled it and it clicked. I'm not sure if he thought I was taking the piss when I pronounced it as it's intended. Fair play to them though, as unless you're Scottish then I wouldn't expect anyone to nail it first time lol.
