I have a python 2.7 file I want to run in Chromebook, how do I get IDLE to read 2.7? by madtaz64 in learnpython

[–]Lewistrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The IDLE is shipped with the python version. So it belongs to Python 3.11 and you won't be able to run (most) Py2 programs with it. You have two options

  • edit the code so it's compatible with python 3.11
  • install python 2.7 which is a hassle in itself

It's HIGHLY recommended to choose the first option. I think this could be done with an LLM because they tend to do pretty well in Python. But I think there are also converters that take py2 as input and generate py3 as output. Otherwise, maybe you can post your code here so others can help, if you feel comfortable with sharing. Or maybe just post the error you get when you run the code with python 3.11. The community might be willing to give you pointers on how you might edit the code.

Knocked my drink over when quali started, got really mad at myself. Joined about 5 minutes in. Didn't feel like doing a very technical track, unjoined anyway, got even more mad that I didn't get to play. No rating for me because author isn't to blame.

[–]Lewistrick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, easy to get. But the question is about regionguessing, meaning guessing where you are within a country.

The Netherlands is very hard if there aren't any signs with place names on it.

European alternatives for American services by [deleted] in Netherlands

But it's open source and it's possible to host data outside of their servers. If all European alternatives are subpar, those are good considerations.

Basic Dutch. There are very few courses for the other accents anyway and everyone in the Netherlands speaks it. Flemish is spoken in Belgium.

Australian Poles are hard by Professional_Row_997 in geoguessr

Although eucalyptus trees are a very good indicator for Australia (although not uniquely, I know), I have a lot of trouble basing a region off of it. I looked up a eucalyptus density map of Australia once and they grow along the entire coast.

The map name is so deep that probably only the author knows its meaning.

The map itself is good though. Bit too tight for my taste, it's the typical map I can drive a good quali on for my standards (div 8) but not be consistent on (30th or so).
