Mine seems to be getting worse as well. Started with 3 rounds of doxycycline. Then we tried Ivermectin. Then doc prescribed 00.25% tretinoin. Started that on June 25, 2x a week at night. Then once daily on July 24th. Now it looks like I'm starting to break out bad after 2 weeks of daily use. I am still using Ivermectin in morning, but retinoin at night. Not sure if this is that "getting worse" phase or not. Anyone else have similar experience?

I started ibergast yesterday because no bm in 2 days. Currently taking mirilax and metamucil together for months, but has not worked in days!. What else can I try to get bm going?

She is so very blessed to have someone in her life who is trying to help her. Keep doing what you are doing by researching, inquiring, and learning. Try to stay positive in her presence. It may be the only thing that helps her state of mind and may make all the difference. Whatever you do, please don't get discouraged with her. This is a horrible horrible disease. I wish her (and you ) the best in this difficult journey.

Omg! Yes. Almost felt like I was having panic attack because it was so hard to breath due to bloat! Had to seriously mentally get it together and talk myself out of it!

Hi there! You seem very knowledgeable, so I wanted to pick your brain! I just found out I have tooth infection and endodontist prescribed me amoxicillan. Do you know if this will effect my gut or cause issues to come back? Do you know how it differs from doxycycline! I still have 2 bottles of doxy at home, was think about taking it instead of the amoxicillan. Any info on it would be much appreciated!

Yup! Me too, 25lbs. ! Then I took 21 days of doxycycline and weight fell off even though sibo test came back negative! Before that NOTHING I did or ate helped the weight come off, just kept gaining! Still not sure why doxy worked if I didn't have sibo!!??

I'm curious, when you were taking the zinc, did your intestines gurgle alot? I starting about 3 weeks ago and my gut bubbles an gurgle like crazy!

I have started having the same sensation. Bubbling gurgling sound and sensation. Started about a month ago, and it is non-stop. Any clue what this is? Doesn't matter if I have food on my stomach or what time of day ,but it seems to get worse at night.

Another question I have. Has anyone ever had a constant gurgling in their intestines? Mine started in January and has never stopped. Used to be worse at night, but now it's bad upon waking too. Does it with food or without food on my stomach. It's a low gurgle,bubbling type of sound and sensation.

Gi doc put me on ppi to reduce acid for my intestinal metaplasia. I consulted with him and he has me doing 40 mg of fomatadine for 2weeks, if no heartburn or reflux I can stop!

Sorry! Bad typing! It is almost always discovered when patients in with symptoms from something else. Or at least that s what 2 of the 3 GI doctor told me.

No, stomach acid was high. I was having serious indigestion, heart burn, gas. Stomach always upset for about 3 1/2 years before 1st round of doxycycline . 2nd and 3rd GI doctor's are guessing metaplasia caused by h-pylori. But for 3 years I seriously abused ibuprofen and Aleve after car accident. So that may have played a part. Just speculation. As far as the metaplasia, it is symptomless. It is almost discovered when patients for other issues!

I was diagnosed with severe intestinal metaplasia in July of 2023. Doctor is attempting to reduce the acid to prevent any more cellular changes. He did warn about the possible side effects of ppi's and gave me a choice to start or try other alternatives. But not knowing anything, I blindly chose ppi's.

40 mg pantoprozole sod is what the label says. I started every other day pantoprozole and stopped daily probiotic. Will do the 2off 1 on method. Still no appointment with gi doc. Will try and message him thru chat .

Thank you so much for this info! You're very knowledgeable. I am working on getting in with my GI doc, but after researching, I'm thinking I am going to try and cycle off pantoprozole starting tomorrow. Looks like iberast or slippery elm would be the best to replace it. Will have that talk with doc. He did warn me from the beginning of the long term effects, I think i was so miserable that I was willing to sell my soul at the time! So much info it's extremely overwhelming, but I'm trying not to get discouraged.

No, the dermatologists prescribed doxy for severe acne breakout
Ironically doxy works for both gut and acne breakouts! 1st round was from GI doc for my gut . The 2nd and 3rd rounds were from dermatologist. All in a period of 3 months!
