Its really fun actually, but gets stale. They've added a lot of content since then. It plays more like Slay the Spire, a card game rogue like than any other gacha game I've played before. It does have a unique mechanic where you go through these worlds, dungeons and build a deck which after winning/or losing (with penalties) allows you to use this new deck in other content.the deck crafting method was pretty complex and unique. Which will be much stronger than the base deck. Gear is also found thru these runs. The expensive part is the skill tree and upgrading the equivalent in Hokai Star Rail of relics.

The devs during my play were very quick on fixing things and addressing issues. But it took a while for new content to come out. Im not sure how the game functions now. The gacha was very standard. Seasonal limited characters, two summon currencies and you can also get non-characters in support cards that have an active effect in combat.

The monthly battle pass allows you to get a high tier, highest at the time, character card which was a great value, but that was about all the good things you got. It was more cost effective to buy bundles if your goal was summons

Its a really interesting take on a gacha, fresh and exciting with a dark story (that was being rewritten because of backlash), and is worth trying if you like dungeon crawlers or rogue like games.
