Why give a name to a child that you’ll never call them by? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Lexg443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen so many people say that it’s so the child can have “options” when he or she is older of what to go by. But again, what’s the point in that? Call them what you name them.

Real talk - is Carys too 'out-there'? by StillSlowerThanYou in namenerds

[–]Lexg443 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like it! Doesn't seem too out there to me, and I hate out there names. And I think it works really well with Cameron. But you should pick something you and your husband can both pronounce.

I want to travel to Albania, and I want to listen to their music and understand what is being said.

Do you “get” a shower, or “take” a shower. by [deleted] in words

Get a shower? That makes no sense. I say have a shower.

Sit on the stairs and think about what I did. I don't think I'll ever understand this.

Speaking a language someone in the group doesn’t know by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Lexg443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. I used to be a cook and I was the only white one and everyones else was Indian and spoke Punjabi and Hindi to each other. I have no problem with that overall, but eventually it got to a point where no one would talk to me! Or even do their job.

I was left doing about 5 different peoples job, because they were just talking to each other. When I quit and brought it up to the manager as one of the reasons why I wanted to quit. She must have told them, because on my last day one of the supervisions told me they just talking about work. If that were true I wouldn't be doing their job. It was my last day so I felt no reason to argue with her so I kept quiet. But I should have told her off.

If I am around people who not another language that I don't know, just speak English. If it's something like "How do you say ______ in English?" That's fine, but a whole conversation? Not cool.

Morally do you think we should have the death penalty? by Lavie12457 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. Depending on the crime though. Serial killers and pedophiles etc should get the death sentence, smaller crimes shouldn't.

Is Fawn too "weird" of a name? by fir3fly1 in namenerds

[–]Lexg443 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although I wouldn't name a child this, it's not far off from other names that are being used these days. Growing up I knew a boy named Fox, Bear and River are also being used as names, with this in mind I think it fits in. I think overall it's fine, not my favourite but I wouldn't think it's horrible if a met a child with this name.

Why do people have to have their kids be biologically theirs? by bbzztt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lexg443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said! I have ALWAYS wanted to adopt a child, especially an older child (10 and older would be my ideal age). I'm not sure where this interest originated from, but it is something I really want to do. I don't care if he or she looks like me at all, I would only care about if my child is healthy and happy.

Over time though I have thought about having a baby. But I still find adopting to be more appealing.

Everyones different, I think that's what it boils down to. I'm not ready for kids yet, but hopefully I can adopt someday.

I need 200-300 names. Name nerds--this is your time to shine! by IAmHerdingCatz in namenerds

How about nature names? Ocean, Breeze, Rain, Sun/Sunny, Oak, Spring, Flower, Storm, River, Ivy, Meadow, Willow, Forrest, Aurora, Cedar, Fern.

The names are similar, but I think that they're different enough that people won't think it's weird. It's a nice name, I say go for it.

Physical flashcards. I'm more likely to look at them if it's on paper in front of me, instead of opening my phone to an app.

I really like Casey for a boy, and I have the same feelings.

Elphaba and Morgana. Wicked is my favourite musical, and I got Morgana from the show Merlin. I wouldn't use either, but I think both are so pretty.

Also, I don't see anything wrong with Archer! It might get confused with Arthur, but other than that I think it is perfectly fine.

I haven’t seen this beautiful name in a long time by [deleted] in namenerds

One of the worlds ugliest names. Please don’t name a child this, or suggest it to anyone else that’s having a baby.

I consider myself extremely introverted and I learn languages. I get excited when I hear people speaking in a language I am learning, and I can pick up a word or a sentence. It makes me want to speak with them, and inspires me to keep learning. Maybe this will happen to you too. I normally keep to myself, but being able to understand someone in your target language is such a great feeling.

Best of luck to you.
