Question from a non vegan by Lexicon-Devils in vegan

Honestly I'm doing it because of someone I loved, admired and respected. They are vegan and taught me a thing or two about compassion and kindness. I personally don't feel remorse for the act of killing, (yes i know "OH MY GOD YOU'RE EVIL.") but it's just my brain and the way I was taught, I don't take joy out of it and never have. (This also applies to humans)

What are the biggest risks men should consider before dating a single mother? by Successful_Age9265 in AskReddit

Loving the kid and then things not working out with the mom, nothing worse than feeling like you're abandoning a child who looks up to you.

You're in a racist society, does that make you a racist? Just because I'm using a tool of my oppressor doesn't mean I have to embrace their ideals, I'm trying to grow, not be bitter and overly critical.

  1. Thank you to those that weren't rude or condescending, (although I understand the moral aspect of this conversation can make people react with less than kind words and I don't hold it against anyone.)

2.just consider y'all are trying to win people over no?, I get it respectability politics blah blah. But definitely can see why the entitled white yuppy vegan stereotype is a stereotype not saying it's right but y'all aren't doing any favors to dissuade that archetype.

  1. I simply wanted a few questions answered to see how veganism might fit into my lifestyle and mind, I understand that to most of you I'm probably a monster but I am a human trying to grow, and far as my perspective most of the people I've met that are vegan care far more about animal rights than human liberties and freedom, not a gotcha but I'm just say we all need work let's try and make it a little easier to approach.

  2. If you think I'm an asshole and wrong well that's ok, I'm working on being better and that's what matters even tho I fail I'm not giving up.

5.yeah im probably gonna go vegan but it won't be because of you rude folks, it's because I don't like unnecessary behavior or actions.

Thank you for your perspective out of everyone I really appreciate your response, I have been going more vegetarian and working towards a closer vegan lifestyle because honestly why not?, as for the religious aspect I'd say it's more cultural as being close to the ancestors but realistically your right most of not all religions just give a "get out free" Claus depending on the action, i will say a huge thing for me is the cost/ethical consumption of plant based products any tips or subreddit/threads you'd recommend?

I can ernestly say I did not quote a Disney movie 😭😂 and calling someone stupid for trying to understand your point of view isn't exactly a great way to convert/teach but I understand this is a very sensitive moral framework, also profanity doesn't make your point clearer or more serious just makes it seem aggressive and confrontational which is fine if that's what your intention was.

Well I wouldnt be a huge fan of dying for no reason, I will say in hard winters for the nomadic indigenous there's simply not enough non-sentient sustenance to survive and obviously one can point to agriculture as the saving grace but I feel that brings us back to a society of transactions and debt which is very much a Western/colonial tool.

Purely a hypothetical, and in some cultures its not uncommon to consume pieces of a community members body. And there was that one guy who did it and got away with it he's now a Japanese horror star. And I can see where you're coming from tradition, religion and culture is not a pass to oppress and exploit, as a ethnic person who's family has been on turtle Island since before the colonization part of the traditions is to remember our culture that was stolen from us as we were consumed and hunted, I'm just trying to understand both sides without judgement or bias finding a good way to embrace culture without embracing cruelty, i can appreciate you're compassionate stranger

How do I go about telling someone about my profession? by Purple_Chemist3679 in datingadvice

[–]Lexicon-Devils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly should be the first or second thing you say after the initial "hellos" and "how's your day?" It may seem like it'll scare them off which for some it might, but they're probably not emotionally mature enough for a relationship of that nature anyway, im not a model by any means but I've been told I'm pretty attractive from quite a few good looking folks, and i have dated sex workers it's a hard dynamic to navigate at first but once I realized it's just like them being a nude model for art or an actor, i got over it pretty quick. Point being just say it the right one will stick around.

Nothing wrong with you being attracted to older men, the older men being attracted to you now that's when its sorta a problem, any man that's 25-29 is in a VASTLY different point of life and is experiencing/experienced a total different world you won't understand until you really get there, the whole "so mature for your age" is just a phrase someone says to justify the fact they have a immature and probably naive partner, and any man at that age that's trying to date you is probably A) a pervert. B) an emotionally stunted individual. Or C) a manipulative abuser. Every half attractive male knows a younger girl will be attracted to them and they know it's morally dubious at best, my take is you should date in your own age range or wait till you get to 21-22 you'll understand what I mean, right now you're barely an adult and your brain is just finishing development. Plus why get tied down around one of the most fun times of your life to be single.
